KIA EV9 Concept 2023.

KIA EV9 Concept electric SUV will go into production in 2023.

At the Los Angeles Auto Show 2021, the Koreans unveiled a large electric KIA EV9 Concept SUV, which is a precursor to the production model.

The production-ready EV9 variant is expected to debut in 2023.

The exterior of the pre-production model has a rather futuristic style with unusual diode headlights, sleek sidewalls without door handles, compact rearview cameras along with mirrors and 22-inch wheels of unusual design.

The rear doors on the Kia EV9 concept open counterclockwise, providing access to a seven-seat cabin with three rows of seats.

The model’s front fascia is designed in a minimalist style.

There is a soaring front panel without any buttons, a folding steering wheel and a huge 27-inch widescreen.

Overall length of the crossover is 4,930 mm, the size of its wheelbase — 3,100, width — 2,055, height — 1,790.

Thus, it is comparable in size to the KIA Telluride model, and in fact, in the future it will be its alternative electric-powered version.

The Kia EV9 Concept is based on the new Hyundai-Kia E-GMP platform developed by the Koreans specifically for electric cars and does not include traditional internal combustion engine vehicles.

The key feature of this bogie is the ability to pack all the electric units in a way that does not hinder the passenger compartment volume.

No details about the technical «stuffing» of the prototype yet.

It is expected that the crossover may be equipped with one or two (one per each axle) electric motors.

Top-end all-wheel drive variant will be able to gain hundred from a place about five seconds.

For powering the electric motors is responsible lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 77 kWh, the declared manufacturer’s mileage on a full charge is about 480 kilometers.

If you recharge the batteries from 350 kW power station, it takes about half an hour to replenish energy from 10 to 80%.
