The updated Kia K3 sedan: more sensors for the Cerato.

The global Kia K3/Cerato/Forte family underwent a planned restyling last year.

Except for the nuances of decor and equipment, these cars look the same in Korea, America, Australia or Russia.

But there is one exception to this rule: specifically for China, the Kia K3 sedan was prepared three years ago with its own variant of appearance and interior.

Now this model has also been restyled — and again with a separate program.

The big grille with vertical bars is in the past.

From the face side the Chinese sedan now looks more like a global version and an older model Kia K5.

But it still has its own headlights, bumper and grille.

There are also new taillights along with the bumper and other wheels.

Changed front end increases the length of the car by elusive 6 mm (up to 4666 mm).

Interior of Chinese K3 is also different, though similar to a global version.

Its main feature is an abundance of sensor panels instead of analog keys and knobs.

For example, the climate control panel (it is single-zone here, although in other countries it has two zones), as well as the buttons on the central tunnel are made completely touch screen.

The new transmission selector — with mode indication on the handle itself.

The media system before had a 10.25-inch widescreen, but now it has lost the separate «hot» buttons.

Although, the volume and radio tuning are now responsible for the hardware rocking keys.

In addition, there is a fully virtual 10.25-inch dashboard (previously there was a seven-inch screen with separate side scales).

The basic power unit is the same: in China it is an atmospheric 1.5 (115 hp) paired with a variator IVT.

A turbo 1.4 T-GDI became more powerful: now 140 instead of 130 hp It is paired with seven-speed pre-selective «robot».

In addition, Chinese sedan Kia K3 can be a rechargeable hybrid and electric car, but these versions will be updated later.

Gasoline cars with the new design will enter the local market by the end of the fall. Right now, prices for the pre-reformed K3 start at $15,700.
