Kia Sportage 2022 for Russia. New Kia Sportage for Russia: richer and more expensive, «off-road» version will also be.

At our market the fifth generation parkett will be presented in a lengthened version, the model will be offered with two atmospheric engines to choose from.

A couple of weeks ago in an open database of Rosstandart there was a vehicle type approval for a crossover Kia Sportage new generation.

Afterwards, the company announced that the SUV with a factory index NQ5 certified for our country, Kia also confirmed the start of sales — first half of 2022.

And now the price of one of the starting sets has been announced: a Comfort version costs from 2 329 900 rubles.

In addition, the «fifth» crossover has acquired its own page on the brand’s Russian website.

We shall remind, Russians will be offered a stretched new Sportage (as in Korea, States and Australia), but the interior is still strictly five-seat.

Length of our crossover is 4660 mm, width — 1865 mm, height — 1660 mm (there are also versions with height 1665 and 1680 mm), distance between axles — 2755 mm.

The long wheelbase Kia Sportage has additional windows in the rear pillars, in contrast to the «short» SUV, which is addressed mainly to Europeans (length — 4515 mm, wheelbase — 2680 mm).

For comparison, the dimensions of the previous cross (QL), designed for the Russian Federation: 4485/1855/1645 mm, wheelbase — 2670 mm.

And also, according to the Kia’s website, the Russian fresh model will have an «off-road» modification, it has more impressive bumpers and full-fledged roof rails.

The name of this design for our market has not been disclosed yet, but, most likely, as in some other countries, this variant will be called the X Line.

In the Russian Federation for the crossover provides for two gasoline «atmospheric», which are familiar with the relative Hyundai Tucson: a four-cylinder G4NL 2.0 (150 hp, 192 Nm) with a distributed injection and G4KN 2.5 (190 hp, 242 Nm) with a combined injection, both able to «feed» AI-92.

The base engine has a six-speed «mechanics» or «automatic», with it, and the Sportage, and Tucson can be both front-wheel and all-wheel drive.

The older engine is combined with 8ACP, with which the «Koreans» are exclusively all-wheel drive.

At the moment, the company has told about the filling only of Comfort variant.

By the way, as noted in Kia, this version is one of the most popular with buyers of the previous generation crossover.

«Comfortable» new Kia Sportage is equipped with a 2.0 motor and 6ACP (front wheel drive), the list of equipment includes: LED headlights, 17-inch wheels, rear Parktronic, a multimedia system with 8-inch screen, rearview camera, dual-zone climate control, plus «Warm Options» package (heated window washer jets, heated steering wheel, front and rear seats, optional electric cabin heater).

The previous Sportage in Comfort variant with automatic car according to price list costs from 2,049,900 rubles, but it has no diode headlights, multimedia system and, accordingly, camera.

Note that today this option is the base for the model of the outgoing generation, although at the beginning of December, the cross could buy a version of the Classic (then it cost from 1 964 900 rubles).

According to GTC, a new Sportage for the Russian Federation will be assembled by Kaliningrad-based Avtotor (where the previous model is also registered).

However, since 2023 the crossover may move to another site. We are talking about the former GM plant in Shushary, which was purchased by Hyundai.
