KIA Sportage 2023 has debuted a PHEV version. In this form long wheelbase model will appear in Russia

Last fall the KIA Sportage 2023 of the new generation was presented in the U.S..

However, it was the first of a version of the popular and largest crossover in its class.

Then the variant Sportage Hybrid has followed, and the day before PHEV variant of the parkette has debuted.

It is worth noting that in Russia, as well as in the U.S., it is the long-wheelbase Sportage that is available, so it is worth expecting that the recharged hybrid will come to Russia in this form.

Like other versions of the Sportage, the plug-in hybrid has similar dimensions to them, and the design is in line with KIA’s «Opposites United» philosophy.

When purchased, the PHEV crossover is available in two trim levels: X-Line and X-Line Prestige. Each is offered with an all-wheel drive system.

That said, the first of the two trims comes standard with 19-inch alloy wheels, all-LED headlights, chrome details on the body, and more.

In addition, the crossover is offered with a branded, unified and slightly curved display on the front panel, combining the dashboard as well as the multimedia system monitor.

By the way, each is 12.3 inches diagonal. Each of the versions of electrified Sportage has a huge set of modern safety systems at its disposal.

As a standard, the owner has adaptive cruise control, blind spot monitoring sensors, rear view camera and more.

It is offered with a hybrid setup consisting of a 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine, a small electric motor, and a compact 13.9 kW lithium-polymer battery.

The total output of the system is 178 hp, with the power generated being transferred to the all-wheel drive via a six-speed automatic transmission.

According to the manufacturer, this model is capable of driving up to 52 km in all-electric mode.
