Kia Telluride 2022.

The Kia Telluride 2022 is a South Korean crossover developed primarily for the North American market.

The car is not sold in our country, although the manufacturer promised to bring this model to Russia back in 2019.

In the United States, the car is presented in four configurations at a price from $32,790 (2,380,000 rubles) to $42,690 (3,100,000 rubles).

The updated model went up by only $600 compared to the pre-styled crossover.

Under the hood of the car is a 3.8-liter «atmospheric», which works exclusively with an automatic transmission.

The main competitors of this model are Mazda CX-9, Toyota Land Cruiser Prado, Hyundai Santa Fe and other crossovers with larger dimensions.

The parkette has received a slight update in appearance. Designers only changed some details to freshen up the model a bit.

Technical Specifications

Kia Telluride 2022 in the new body has adopted all the technical specifications from the restyled model.

The car has a standard for this type of model design with a rear multilever suspension.

Under the hood of the car, as before, there is a 3.8-liter atmospheric V-shaped six with a maximum capacity of 295 horsepower and 355 N*m of torque.

This motor works together with an eight-speed automatic gearbox. The South Korean company is not changing this engine, as it is very productive and is still far from being obsolete.

However, in the future, Kia has plans to equip the unit with a hybrid system, which will make it less harmful to the environment. After all, emission standards are tightened every year.

A four-wheel drive system with locking differential is available as an option for this car.

The dimensions of the car have not changed. The body length of the 2022 Kia Telluride is as much as 5001 mm, width — 1989 mm, and height — 1750 mm. Ground clearance of the model is 203 mm.

Combined with all-wheel drive, this gives the car the ability to drive off-road. Such cars are appreciated by buyers in the U.S., so there South Korean crossover is in high demand.

The distance between the axles of the car is 2.9 meters. Therefore, passengers on all three rows of seats will be comfortable.

By the way, the car is offered with eight-seat layout. But there is also a seven-seat variant with an armrest between the seats of the second row.

The standard trunk has a volume of 595 liters, but if you fold the third row of seats, it will increase to 1302 liters.

Therefore, Telluride is suitable for long trips with the whole family, even if the route will lie through country roads with many obstacles.

Features and prices

Since 2019, the car is sold in the U.S. in four configurations (LX, S, EX and SX) and nothing has changed in two years.

The updated Telluride is offered with the same number of configurations with identical names.

However, the recent facelift has increased the price of each modification by $600 (44 thousand rubles).

LX
The name of the top-of-the-line Lexus model is only the starting configuration for the 2022 Kia Telluride.

In this version you can buy the crossover at official dealers in the United States for $32,790 (2,380,000 rubles).

S
This is the second stage of the Kia Telluride bundles, which has the same technical equipment.

The car in this version can be bought on the North American market for $35,290 (2,600,000 rubles).

EX
The third configuration will cost the buyer $ 37,790 (2,800,000 rubles).

SX
This is the top-of-the-line configuration in the 2022 Kia Telluride lineup.

That’s why its price is much higher than the others. In the U.S. in this version of the crossover is sold for $ 42,690 (3,100,000 rubles).

Design

The facelift made this year added minor changes to the car’s design.

First of all, it is worth noting the new headlights with a completely different pattern of daytime running lights.

The radiator grille also changed — it became much wider and completely lost the chrome elements. And of course, the manufacturer has installed a new company logo, similar to the Russian combination of the letters «CI».

Now this nameplate will be on all Kia cars. Otherwise, it is the same big crossover with straight lines of the body. In the interior everything remained the same.

However, the eight-inch screen has been replaced with a 10.25-inch touchscreen display. Also the seats’ upholstery has been changed and now there is a choice of different materials available.

Wood inlays, metal elements and two-tone upholstery make the interior of the car visually premium. The interior of the parkette is pleasant even just to look at, and it’s a pleasure to drive in it.
