Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4: a modern version of the classic supercar In August 2021, at the American exhibition «The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering» the premiere of the limited edition hypercar Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 took place.

It is not difficult to guess from the name of the novelty that it is developed in honor of the legendary Countach that turns 50 years.

The Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 is based on the Aventador and has a carbon fiber body reminiscent of the classic supercar.

Like other modern cars of the Italian brand, the novelty has sharp and angular design.

Besides, it has branded scissor doors, which firstly appeared on Lamborghini Countach.

In front, the presented hypercar draws attention with trapezoidal headlights and the same air intakes. According to the idea, these design elements are supposed to remind one of the late modifications of the legendary model — LP5000 QV of 1985.

Looking at the model from the side, you can’t help but notice the large side air intakes.

Such decision the Italians obviously «copied» from the final Countach 25th Anniversary of 1998.

Slits behind the side windows are already a reference to the 1971 prototype.

The shape of the roof and rear window also reminds about the latter.

Note that the two-door received hexagonal wheel arches, where there are 20 and 21-inch retro wheels in the front and rear. «Fitted with Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires.

The stern of the limited-edition hypercar has headlights with three hexagonal LED elements (the same are on the modern Sian).

Plus, the car’s front end is notable for a carbon fiber diffuser and four round exhaust pipes.

But the presented coupe has no antifender, and the developers don’t spread about active aerodynamics of the car, but apparently the car still has a retractable rear spoiler.

The «anniversary» Lamborghini Countach has seats and steering wheel from Aventador, while the door cards, front panel and center console are from Sian.

At the same time, the brand’s designers changed the shape of the ventilation deflectors, making them similar to the classic Countach.

The presented two-door boasts a new 8.4-inch multimedia touchscreen, but from the outside the latter looks like on Sian.

Plus, there is a «Stile» button in the cabin, which, when pressed, starts the presentation of the car for the driver and passenger.

Note that the public was presented with a copy of the model with white body paint «Bianco Siderale» and red-black leather interior, but the Italians said that every customer will be able to personalize the car specifically for themselves.

Thus, there is wide palette of classic body shades and four variants of interior’s configuration with a choice of color of stitching and some or other floor mats.

Although Lamborghini Countach LPI 800-4 is based on the Aventador, it already has technical solutions from Sian FKP 37.

In particular, the hypercar has the same carbon monocoque and soft-hybrid power plant.

Four-wheel drive coupe is still driven by the same mild hybrid setup, although the 6.5-liter atmospheric V12 engine is slightly de-force and produces «only» 780 hp. (- 4).

It works in conjunction with a seven-band robot, in which a 48-volt electric motor with 34 hp is built in. As in the case with Sian, a supercapacitor is responsible for powering of electric motor here.

Total efficiency of such unit reaches 814 «horsepower», thus the hypercar needs only 2,8 seconds to accelerate from a place up to a hundred.

The bar of 200 km/h new Countach takes 8.6 seconds from the moment of start, and its high-speed limit reaches 355 km/h.

Thus, in terms of dynamics it is not inferior to a fresh Aventador LP780-4 Ultimae, as well as the already mentioned Sian FKP 37.

It is known that Italians will release only 112 of these hypercars, but the price tag of cars has not yet been disclosed. Shipment of cars to the first customers will begin in the first quarter of 2022.
