Lightyear 0 solar-powered car.

The startup Lightyear introduced the world’s first solar-powered car.

The company from the Netherlands named it Lightyear 0. The car claims to be the most technologically advanced in the world.

The company Lightyear held a presentation of the landmark car — it is an electric car, the energy for which comes from solar panels.

There are solar panels on the roof and hood, which have a total area of 5 square meters.

In a year with the help of solar energy it is possible to drive 7.4 thousand kilometers. However, during the tests the range was even greater — 11 thousand km.

We should also note the high cost of the car — 250 thousand euros, which is more than 15 million rubles.

If we talk about the body, Lightyear 0 is a classic fastback with a length of 5 083 mm.

Thus at the expense of the lightweight carbon fiber it was possible to reduce weight of the car up to 1 575 kg.

The battery is also present here — its capacity is 60 kW, which is rather modest by modern standards.

But the volume of the trunk pleased — 640 liters. The manufacturer has not declassified the output of the power plant, but it is known that there will be four motors.

Up to 100 km/h one can accelerate in 10 seconds. If it happens to be a sunny day, the electric car additionally gets a cruising range of 70 km.

All in all, we can count on a distance of 625 km on a full charge.

Another important parameter is the lowest drag coefficient — only 0.19, which is better than the former leader Mercedes-Benz EQS.

That the engineers have worked well in this regard is evident from the silhouette of the car.

Lightyear didn’t forget about the environment — the interior is vegetable-based leather, and the body and interior details are made of recycled materials.

Production of the cars will start this fall, and the first customers can expect to receive the cars in November 2022.

The Lightyear 0 electric car will not need to be charged for months.

Up to 70 km of extra mileage per day will be provided by solar panels.

The startup Lightyear has unveiled the production version of the Lightyear 0 solar electric car.

It costs 250,000 euros (15.45 million rubles) and is equipped with five square meters of photovoltaic panels, which on a clear day give an additional 70 kilometers of range.

If you drive an average of 50 kilometers, then the car can not be charged for months.

Production of the Lightyear 0 will begin next fall. The first customers will receive their cars in November.
