Lincoln Aviator 2020 is an American approach to luxury.

During the New York Auto Show, we saw many interesting developments. Most of them are crossovers due to the clear trend for their purchase around the world.

Lincoln, which has noticeably slowed down in recent years, does not lag behind large manufacturers. Nevertheless, the new generation of the Aviator model attracted considerable public attention.

A large SUV with three rows of seats, rear-wheel drive and a powerful naturally aspirated engine — a classic of the American automotive industry.

At the same time, already in the standard configuration, the owner receives super-rich equipment.

Let’s see if the car is worth the money, because in the home market they will ask for at least 60 thousand dollars (about 3,300,000 rubles).

It is important to note that at the New York show, the company only showed a concept car, but the production version is unlikely to receive major changes compared to it.

Initially, the concern planned to show a modification for mass production, but there were some delays and had to demonstrate a «raw» project.

It is already known for sure that the interior and appearance of the new Lincoln Aviator 2019 will be the same as the concept.

Design

In the exterior of the SUV, they used brand solutions of the brand of recent years. Many features were taken from the flagship of the line — the Navigator model.

On the other hand, the «younger brother» is more harmonious and urban, thanks to the refined details.

At the front, we see a small mesh-style grille completely covered in chrome. The headlights are large enough and consist entirely of LEDs. Under them is a strip of daytime running lights.

The hood has massive lines. The large bumper houses the fog lights and air intakes, and there is a gray plastic protection along the bottom of the body.

It will allow you to avoid serious damage to the paintwork when driving off-road.

Sideways, the crossover bears a resemblance to the current generation of Range Rover. The elongated bonnet and sloping roof were clearly taken over from the British brand.

Compact door handles stand out from the general concept, but the windows are large even in the third row of seats.

The back of the 2019 Lincoln Aviator is simple and stylish. The large boot lid makes the car practical, and the small spoiler on the top adds sportiness.

There are also large longitudinal headlights here. An exhaust system with massive tailpipes attracts attention.

Interior decoration

As we said, the production version of the SUV inside will not differ from the prototype.

The premium trim levels of the car will offer quality leather trim and a whole list of advanced systems. They ensure the convenience, safety and comfort of everyone in the cabin.

Among the outstanding options are the following:

Digital instrument panel 12 inches;
Brand multimedia system «Ford» with a 10-inch touchscreen and support for modern gadgets;
Navigation;
Wi-Fi access point;
Premium audio system;
Large and comfortable chairs with massage and ventilation functions;
Climate control for four zones;
Wireless charger;
USB inputs along the perimeter of the cabin.

Among the innovations in the new Lincoln Aviator is the advanced adaptive damping system. Several radars in the front of the body determine the quality of the road surface, which allows the suspension to be optimized in advance.

Let’s highlight the new safety system, also borrowed from Ford. It includes the following options:

Detection of pedestrians in the dark;
Blind spot monitoring;
Steering in the lane;
Automatic switching from low beam to high beam.

It will be possible to drive an SUV without a key at all. To do this, just install a special application on your smartphone, thanks to which you can unlock the doors, start the engine and find the car in the parking lot.

Technical details

So far, the exact specifications of the second generation Lincoln Aviator are kept secret. However, it is safe to talk about some aspects.

Under the hood, the car will have a 2.7-liter V6 engine developed by «Ford», producing 340 horsepower.

It is paired with an automatic transmission in eight steps. In the basic version, buyers will be offered rear-wheel drive, and a 4WD system is available as an option.

There is a high probability of a modification with a hybrid power plant based on the same gasoline engine.

Now a similar unit is already being used on the Nautilus model. Lincoln representatives have already whetted public interest in the car.

They said the hybrid version will get enough power to compete with established sports cars.
