Lotus shows off the capabilities of its new Lotus Emira V6 First Edition on video.

Lotus has published a film on its Youtube channel about its Jaguar F-Type competitor, which motorsport guru Gavan Kershaw puts to the test.

Ahead of the first deliveries, which will begin next year, Lotus is fueling public interest in its new Emira sports car with a new video showing the car in dynamic testing.

The short film, published on Youtube, shows the future Jaguar F-Type and Porsche Cayman competitor undergoing high-speed testing at the Lotus Hethel test track run by Gavan Kershaw.

Kershaw also demonstrates the car’s ability to go smoothly into glide mode, and explains how the Emira’s 3.5-liter supercharged V6 provides excellent response at low revs.

Kershaw also talks about the car’s four driving modes. «Tour» is designed to provide «maximum stability and control,» while «Sport» allows «drifting» and improves throttle response.

«Race» mode changes the digital instrumentation settings to a more track-oriented setting and allows for increased slip angles at the expense of reduced stability control without reducing ABS response for safe braking.

Finally, the «Full Off» feature is self-explanatory; it disables all stabilization systems so that the car is «100% in the driver’s control.»

The Lotus Emira sports car debuted over the summer without revealing many parameters. In particular, engine output.

And the model has two to choose from: turbocharged 2.0 from AMG and a V6 3.5 unit from Toyota, equipped with a drive compressor.

Today, the company launched a configurator and declassified a number of characteristics of the first modification of the Emira, which went on sale: the V6 First Edition.
