Maserati GranTurismo Folgore 2023: The 1200-horsepower sports car was driven without camouflage.

The luxury brand Maserati, part of the Stellantis Corporation, has published a video that fully reveals the exterior of the GranTurismo Folgore electric coupe, its world premiere will be next year.

At the same time we were told some technical details.

Maserati has been teasing us with teasers of GranTurismo Folgore electric coupe since the beginning of spring, and the exact date of the premiere is still unknown.

We should remind that Folgore is translated from Italian as «lightning,» and all electric Maserati will receive prefix Folgore; in March the Italian brand presented middle-sized crossover Grecale Folgore.

Fresh video with GranTurismo Folgore was recorded in August in the USA within the framework of the auto week in Monterey, which this year turned out surprisingly rich on sports novelties.

Electric coupe Maserati also glimpsed there, but unofficially, we have only recorded promotional video, where with GranTurismo Folgore completely removed camouflage.

Sebastian Maniscalco, a popular American standup comedian, was involved in the filming, who takes a staged interview with Maserati’s chief designer Klaus Busse (behind the wheel) and Maria Conti, the main PR person of the brand (in the back seat).

The video allows not only to enjoy the classic aristocratic forms of the GranTurismo Folgore, but also reveals some curious technical details.

Thus, according to Busse, the GranTurismo Folgore’s spectacular shape and low seating position were made possible by packing the battery in the central tunnel rather than in the floor.

The battery capacity is not disclosed, but we know that thanks to the 800-volt architecture, it will be possible to top up the driving range of 100 km in just 5 minutes (for this, of course, will require a powerful terminal).

Also in the video we can hear the synthetic roar of the electric car at the frenzied acceleration, which provides three-engine power plant with more than 1200 hp.

Acceleration to 100 km/h takes 2.7 seconds and a top speed of more than 320 km/h.

The interior of the coupe is not disclosed, but in the video we can see that the second row is quite spacious, Maria Conti’s legs do not prop up the back of the front seat, where Sebastian Maniscalco sits.

We should remind you that the new generation GranTurismo coupe and the related GranCabrio convertible will also receive versions with petrol engines (probably with a 3.0-liter V6 Nettuno ), but by 2030 Maserati plans to completely get rid of internal combustion engines, that is, will produce only electric cars.
