Maserati GranTurismo Folgore EV 2022.

Fresh photos of the new all-electric Maserati GranTurismo Folgore EV 2022 have hit the social media.

The all-electric model, whose debut is scheduled for this year, wears a thin layer of blue camouflage with an image of a trident on the profile, which does not prevent us from discerning the design of the powerful electric car.

The only enclosed part is the lower bumper air intakes. They are predicted to have an original design, not unlike the GranTurismo with an internal combustion engine.

But new photos of the GranTurismo Folgore appear amid a handshake between Davide Grasso, Maserati CEO, and Scott Sweed, chairman and managing partner of ROKiT Venturi Racing.

After the partnership was announced, Maserati tweeted more photos of the same prototype with Carlos Tavares, Stellantis’ CEO at the wheel. Tavares drove the GranTurismo electric car through the streets of Rome, which allowed us to capture some pretty cool footage to get a better look at the car’s body.

In one social media post about the novelty, Maserati says the GranTurismo will be its first model «using 100 percent advanced electric solutions borrowed from Formula E.»

Another post hints that the newest electric car will make its Formula E debut in 2023.

As for the powertrain, the upcoming GranTurismo Folgore will get the title of the most powerful model in the history of the brand. Its output will exceed the 650 hp mark.

It will be faster than the usual GranTurismo, equipped with a 3.0-liter twin-turbocharged V6 engine. By 2025, all Maserati models will come in Folgore variants, and by 2030 the brand will become fully electric.

The Italian brand Maserati just recently showed off its all-electric GranTurismo Folgore 2023.

The model has already been driven on the streets of Europe, so all its characteristics have been revealed. The first sales of the novelty will begin next year.

Not all developments have been completed yet, but there is a final phase of production. Yes, the Italian company will have another model — Grecale Folgore.

It is a crossover with full electric powertrain. But the first serial automobile will become GranTurismo.
