Mercedes showed the new Vision AMG on the official teaser: the first information about the powertrain has been revealed.

The other day, the chief designer of the German automaker Mercedes-Benz shared on social media a teaser of a mysterious concept car with the title «Desire for extreme performance, get ready for our all-electric Vision AMG concept car».

However, the trailer didn’t reveal any other important information other than the new car’s general silhouette.

If you look closely at the published images, it’s not hard to notice that the outline of the Vision AMG version resembles the Mercedes EQXX, which was introduced earlier.

The car has a streamlined design with a short hood and a slight sloping roof.

However, the difference is that the new concept looks more aggressive than the EQXX.

Moreover, no one should have any doubts about the electric «heart» of the new Vision AMG.

At the same time, detailed characteristics of the powertrain remain out of the information field for now. The same can be said about the interior of the concept car.

The EQXX has an aerodynamic drag coefficient of 0.17, a cruising range of more than 1,000 kilometers and is equipped with a rear-mounted engine with a maximum output of 150 kW (204 hp).

Although it is enough for daily use in the city, for the AMG brand this car can not be called powerful.

As for the Mercedes AMG EQS 53, released last September, its maximum power is 560 kW (761 hp) and peak torque is 1020 N*m.

Acceleration time to a «hundred» is only 3.4 seconds. However, the range on pure electricity is no more than 526-580 kilometers.

If the performance is improved based on the EQXX, we can expect all figures to be higher.

According to some reports, the new car is expected to be officially unveiled on May 19 this year.

The chief designer announced the new concept car, but it won’t be on sale until 2025.

Unfortunately, teaser images give a faint idea of the novelty.

The teaser shows only the outline of the Vision AMG’s profile with a pointed front end and a smooth sloping roof line that flows into the rear fenders, while the angled tail end elements match the sharp front end.

He also said that the model is built on a special electric architecture.
