MINI launches Pat Moss Edition 2022 in honor of International Women’s Day.

MINI celebrated International Women’s Day with the Pat Moss Edition. The model of the same name pays homage to Pat Moss.

She is the girl who paved the way for women in rallying. She entered the history of world motorsport in 1962 with the first victory in an international rally for a British brand on the prestigious route Nordwijk — Monte Carlo — Nordwijk, better known as the International Tulip Rally.

Moss passed away in 2008, and the brand is now celebrating her achievement with special versions of the Cooper S and John Cooper Works.

Only 800 of such special cars will be made. And only the John Cooper Works version will reach the USA.

The special edition, available in Pepper White or Midnight Black Metallic colors, features red rear-view mirror housings and a multicolor roof.

It starts with Chili Red and then changes to Melting Silver, which replaces Jet Black.

There are also tulip graphics on the side windows, hubcaps and rear pillars.

They are joined by an image with Pat Moss’ signature, a rally information sticker and a horizontal stripe on the hood with the three-dimensional lettering «737 ABL.» This is the registration number of the classic model that won the rally.

The interior features special sill plates and a leather-wrapped steering wheel depicting tulips. Drivers will also find the racer’s signature.

The Pat Moss Edition will go on sale at European dealerships this May, with a U.S. launch scheduled for August.

Full details will be released closer to launch, but the U.S. office has already announced that the special edition will be based on the John Cooper Works Hardtop with Iconic Trim trim and will include additional equipment: these include active cruise control and park assist, for example.

The car will come standard with a six-speed manual transmission, while an eight-speed automatic will be available at no extra cost.
