The 1.3-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine will come next, producing 140 hp and 158 hp when mated to a seven-speed automatic transmission.

For those who want hybrid powertrain there is a 1.6-liter «atmospheric» engine, working together with electric motor and producing up to 145 hp.

As in the case with the Captur, the most powerful power unit for the ASX will be a 160-horsepower rechargeable hybrid, where the standard internal combustion engine interacts with two electric motors.

Thus, the important feature is that Japanese will not sell its crossover with diesel engines.

Besides new ASX next year Mitsubishi intends to present next generation of compact Colt, but this event will take place in autumn.

At that, most likely the new Renault Clio, which is actually the equivalent of the Colt, will be based on the latter, as the French company has already announced that it will appear in 2026.
