New 2023 Lincoln Star Concept EV. The Lincoln Star crossover showed the new face of the brand.

The U.S. company noted that the conceptual parkette will not go into production later, but the demonstrated design elements are likely to be seen in new models of the brand.

Lincoln brand belongs to the American company Ford. According to Carsalesbase website, sales of the brand’s cars on the home market have been declining for the past two years.

Customers bought 105,410 cars (6.1 percent less than in 2019) at the end of «covid» 2020.

The following year, the decline was even more pronounced, with dealers selling just 86,929 cars (17.5% less than a year earlier).

This year, the brand is still in the red: 19,148 Lincoln cars were sold in the U.S. in the first quarter of 2022, down 24.6%.

Actual brand lineup has four SUVs — Navigator, Aviator, Nautilus and Corsair (traditional internal combustion engine options and hybrids are provided), in the future it is promised to replenish electric cars.

As previously reported, Lincoln will have four new fully «green» models by the end of 2026.

It is assumed that by this date, more than half of the brand’s sales in the global market will account for electric cars.

For now, the company keeps information about new developments in secret but it gave a chance to estimate future «face» of the brand’s electric cars: fresh design solutions showcased by a conceptual Lincoln Star model.

Foreign mass media named the show car «a guiding star of the brand to electric car future».

It is reported that the concept will not be finalized till the series, however, some evolutionary design solutions will be used for decoration of new Lincoln models in future.

The concept Star has a transparent hood, a large end cap in place of the traditional grille, in the center there is a luminous brand logo, as well as the crossover got minimalist headlights, concise air intake integrated into the bottom of the front bumper, swinging doors, cameras together side mirrors, original wheels, boots in low-profile rubber.

The stern is decorated with a spoiler at the top, and the taillights are connected across the full width of the tailgate with a luminous strip.

In the cabin, the front and rear rows of seats are different in color.

At the rear, there are two separate seats with comfort-enhancing footrests (and shoe racks), a drinks fridge, separate infotainment screens, and driver information is also displayed on them.

In front of the driver and front passenger there is a large horizontally arranged screen that acts as a virtual «dashboard» and a multimedia touchscreen.

Information about «stuffing» Lincoln Star not available, the company noted only that the cars built on the platform on which the conceptual model is based, will receive versions with rear and all-wheel drive (probably the first case provides a single electric motor, in the second — twin-engine setup).

As it became known earlier, Lincoln is probably developing a new SUV to replace the Navigator.

It is possible that the list of future electric cars of the brand will appear full-size SUV, which will head the «green» lineup of the brand.

According to preliminary data, its production will start in 2026, and it could be based on the same platform on which the Ford F-150 Lightning pickup is based.
