Today, the name Century in the range of the brand is only an executive sedan, the first generation of which appeared in 1967.

The first generation lasted on the assembly line for 30 years, the second, which appeared in 1997, a little less — until 2017, it was then that the premiere of the third generation of the sedan took place in October.

Now it is expected to expand the gamut due to the crossover, which should become more massive.

While there is no information about the appearance of the future novelty, however, it is expected that it will be built on the platform of the Grand Highlander crossover, which premiered the other day.

Century may get a slightly increased wheelbase: according to preliminary data, it will stretch to 3 meters, and the length will be increased to 5.2 meters.

Moreover, the increase will go for the sake of space in the second row of seats, which will also be the last, while the Grand Highlander has a three-row interior layout.

For comparison, similar figures for the Toyota Land Cruiser 300 are 2850 and 4965 mm. A feature of the appearance of the Century model is a very conservative design, it is likely that the crossover will be made in a similar style.

At the front, it can get a chrome-plated trapezoidal grille and simple headlights.

Among the characteristic features of the sedan are silver trim on the lower part of the bumpers and sidewalls and the absence of the Toyota logo, instead of the letter designation of the model and the phoenix symbol.

The crossover is also depicted with traditional horizontal lights and multi-spoke rims in the style of the Century sedan.

There is also no official data on the technology yet, there is an assumption that the crossover will be equipped with a hybrid power plant, which will be based on a 2.4 petrol turbo engine paired with an electric motor and a six-speed automatic.

The new Grand Highlander received a similar installation, it has a total return of 367 hp. and 542 Nm of torque.

The premiere of new items may take place in August this year.
