New Hyundai Grandeur 7 2023. Presented Hyundai Grandeur 7 generation: all the details about the new sedan.

In South Korea there was a premiere of the flagship sedan Hyundai Grandeur 2023 of the new (seventh in a row) generation.

Visually the model has undergone significant changes. The new Hyundai Grandeur 7 has almost nothing in common with a four-door of the previous generation.

But the car has got a number of «space» solutions from the minivan Staria.

In particular, the car depicted on the photo attracts attention with the presence of narrow LED strips called «Seamless Horizon» in the front and rear.

Specifically in front this «band» performs the role of flasher lights, while the main headlights are integrated into a rectangular grille.

But the narrow stripe on the stern is a full-fledged lights. It is interesting, that reversing lamps project two oblique strips on a surface of the road.

According to Koreans, this solution is much more informative in the dark.

Besides outside the sedan can brag of frameless doors with retractable handles and short and slightly upturned tailgate.

Depending on the configuration, the car is entitled to 18- to 20-inch wheels. If the exterior of the model is made with a glance at Staria, while working on interior Koreans were inspired by the very first Grandeur.

It was let out in far 1986 and in fact was the licensed copy of Mitsubishi Debonair.

Angular front panel with big 12,3-inch screens of virtual dashboard and multimedia system and also three-spoke steering wheel stylized as one-spoke retro steering wheel reminds about classical four-door in the interior of Hyundai Grandeur 2023.

Interestingly, there is a round fingerprint scanner to the left of the digital dashboard.

It is designed to identify the driver and download his personal data (can be useful if the car is ridden by several people).

Climate control is now controlled from a separate 10.25-inch touchscreen in the center console.

Plus a projection display can be ordered for extra charge. And the number of analog buttons and knobs in the cabin was reduced to a minimum.

The transmission selector in the new Hyundai Grandeur 2023 has moved from the central tunnel to the steering column, with the space freed Koreans used for wireless charging for smartphone and trays for small items.

As for the interior, the top version (Calligraphy) is made of nappa leather with accents of aluminum and wood veneer.

Moreover, the frequent touch areas are upholstered with antibacterial coating.

The most expensive version also has a special emphasis on the comfort of the rear passengers.

For example, the central armrest has buttons to control the secondary functions (audio system, microclimate and heated / ventilated seats), and the rear doors have electric curtains.

In terms of technology, the Hyundai Grander 2023 in the new body is largely unified with the KIA K8 sedan.

With the change of generation, it has retained the usual layout with a transverse arrangement of the engine and front-wheel drive.

At the same time, the model’s adaptive suspension has received a front camera.

The last one scans the road in front, due to what the electronics can adjust the stiffness of shock absorbers on the fly.

The new sedan was larger than the previous generation model — its wheelbase was stretched to 2,895 mm (+ 10), and overall length for the first time in history exceeded five meters and is now 5,035 mm (+ 45 compared to its predecessor).

Width and height of the vehicle are claimed to be 1,880 (+ 5) and 1,460 mm (- 10), respectively. Trunk volume varies from version to version.

On the gasoline four-door, it is 480 liters, and on the gas-powered — only 320 liters (due to the presence of a propane tank).

The base Hyundai Grandeur 2023 is equipped with a 2.5-liter GDI four-cylinder atmospheric engine, which produces 198 hp (248 Nm).

Higher-end versions get a 3.5-liter V6 GDI, which replaces the old 3.3-liter V6.

Its output reaches 300 horsepower (359 Nm). Both units have a combined fuel injection system.

There is also a 3.5-liter V6 LPG engine with 240 hp and 314 Nm of torque.

All of these engines work in tandem with the eight-speed automatic.

Moreover, the new Hyundai Gerandeur 7 has a hybrid version on the basis of a 1.6-liter turbo engine rated at 180 hp (265 Nm), supplemented by an electric motor with 60 hp (264 Nm), built into a six-speed automatic. At its peak, the units combine to produce 230 hp.

It is interesting that a full drive became available for the South Korean sedan for the first time. We are talking about transmission HTRAC with a clutch to connect the rear axle, which can be ordered for cars with V6 GDI engine.

The car is equipped with ten airbags. Among them there is a central airbag, located between the driver and the front passenger.

In the event of an accident, it opens and prevents the collision of the people sitting next to it. In addition, a complex of modern electronic assistants «Smart Sense» is designed to provide a high level of safety.

It should be noted that the previous generations of the Grander in the domestic market were absolute bestsellers (over a million such cars were sold in South Korea over the past 10 years).

Four-door has already appeared on sale and costs from $ 28,000 (1.7 million rubles at the current exchange rate).

At the same time the manufacturer asks for the gas version from $29,100 (1.75 million rubles), and for the hybrid — from $33,000 (2.0 million rubles).

But outside of Korea, this model is not in much demand (the sixth generation was sold mainly in the Middle East).

Whether the sales geography will be expanded is still unknown, but it will appear on export markets in the second quarter of 2023.
