Nissan Patrol Warrior 2022.

The Australian media has long reported on the return of the 2022 Nissan Patrol Warrior to the local market.

However, the Japanese company has never confirmed this information.

The Warrior version of the SUV looks a lot like the standard Patrol.

According to the published information, the difference is that the novelty has received additional bolts that adorn the silver body, widened arches, suspension with increased ground clearance, unique rims and all-terrain tires.

In addition, Nissan is considering installing exhaust pipes over the rear doors.

It was previously stated that the Patrol Warrior could get a twin-turbo V6 engine.

However, Nissan Australia said that the future SUV will keep its previous 5.6-liter V8 engine.

Its maximum output, as expected, will not be changed: it will make about 402 hp.

The new Patrol Warrior will also feature a black grille and black ornaments, with wooden inserts replacing the wooden panels on the interior.

Otherwise, the interior of this version does not differ from the standard.

It is reported that these revisions not only made Patrol Warrior more impressive, but also improved its cross-country ability.

While the release of SUV is still in question. Australian division, which will develop the Patrol Warrior, has not yet received approval from the head office.

It is announced that the project of extreme all-terrain vehicle is still under discussion.

Back in 2019, a hardcore Navara N-Trek Warrior pickup appeared in the Australian Nissan range, and then the management of the local brand division hinted that a similar version can get the flagship Patrol SUV of the current generation (Y62).

Nevertheless, the project of hardcore Patrol is not forgotten: the company has officially declared that the concept of such all-terrain vehicle is under development.

The new Patrol Warrior has already been shown to dealers and is awaiting final approval from the company’s head office to put the new version into production.

Like the Navara Pro-4X Warrior, this special all-terrain vehicle was created in a joint effort with an engineering company Premcar based in Victoria, Australia (previously owned by the British Prodrive).

Based on the sketch, the Patrol Warrior has a more massive front bumper and the presence of black plastic wheel arch extenders.

In addition the SUV has acquired the same black grille and black roof rails, off-road tires and original rims.

Well, most likely, the chassis is refined. For example, the arsenal of Navara Pro-4X Warrior pickup includes larger diameter shock absorbers and new springs, plus this truck has an extended track width by 30 mm.

By the way, it is possible that by the time Patrol Warrior will be presented (if the project is given the «green light» of course), the ATV for Australia will finally get a modern multimedia system with a large screen towering over the front dash — as in the Middle East SUV.

The engine is likely to take over from the original Patrol. In the Australian market, the model is available only with gasoline V8 5.6 engine capacity of 405 hp and seven-speed «automatic» (in the Middle East off-roader is still due to 275-horsepower V6 4.0, plus there is a version of the Nismo with forced to 428 hp. V8). The all-terrain vehicle has all-wheel drive with a downshift gear.

Simultaneously with Patrol Warrior announced a cheaper version of the hardcore pickup — Navara SL Warrior.

This truck will definitely go on sale, but specific dates have not been called yet. Nissan Navara SL Warrior retains the wheel arch extenders and off-road tires, but the front end is designed differently.
