Opel Mokka-e 2021 is a new electric crossover from Opel.
For several years, the Opel Mokka crossover is no longer sold on the Russian market, but it continues to be popular in European countries.

According to statistics, for a long time the car was sold with a circulation of 100,000 per year, and only in 2019 the sales volume was reduced to 80 thousand cars.

To get rid of the unpleasant trend, the carmaker has planned a generational change for 2020-2021, and the other day Opel’s official sources announced the release of an electric modification of the Mokka-e 2021 with a 136 hp engine. from.

It can be bought for 35 thousand euros (approximately 2.7 million rubles). Simple editions with internal combustion engines will appear a little later.

External appearance

During the planned renovation, the dimensions and body design of the model have changed. Now the crossover is based on the PSA platform instead of the GM base.

The introduction of the CMP bogie influenced the proportions and dimensions of the body. Its length was reduced to 4150 mm (125 mm), while the distance between the wheel axles was 2557 mm (2 mm more).

Overhangs have significantly decreased:

• rear — by 66 mm;

• front — by 61 mm.

The width of the car has increased by 10 mm (up to 1787 mm). The curb weight of the 2021 Mokka-e has decreased by 120 kilograms, as expected for models with electric powertrains.

In addition to adjusting the dimensions, the developers have revised the design of the body. Guided by the new concept of the Opel Vizor, the designers stylized the front part of the body as a visor helmet.

This was achieved by combining head optics and a radiator grille into an integral block of headlights. By default, the headlights are equipped with LED equipment, but for an additional fee, matrix modules can be selected that support 14 individually controllable segments.

In order not to dazzle passing or oncoming cars, these LED elements are turned off.
The exterior of the Opel Mokka-e 2021 is distinguished by the presence of clean surfaces and smooth transitions in height.

On the side parts of the body, there are no usual embossed stampings, while the profile itself is quite blown out.

The rear retains a laconic style — discreet lights are combined with an ergonomic luggage compartment lid and bumper.

Alloy wheel rims up to 18 inches are harmoniously combined with the overall concept of the exterior. The massive visor above the rear window, which has become smaller in size, looks especially original.

This is due to the massive trunk lid with an increased area. The rear lights with a vertical arrangement have received an unusual design.

Another distinctive design feature is the unusual body paint.
Not only the pillars and the roof received a contrasting color, but also the surface of the hood and radiator grill. Additional elegance to the exterior of the Opel Mokka-e 2021 is given by unusual elements of a plastic cross-body kit with protective inserts on the doors.

Salon Opel Mokka-e 2021

The interior of the Opel Mokka-e 2021 looks no less stylish. The infotainment panel PP (Pure Panel) consists of two paired color monitors with a diagonal of 10 and 12 inches.

The larger screen is for displaying instrument information. On it, the driver can familiarize himself with information about the condition of the vehicle or with data from the security systems and the navigation package. The smaller display is adapted for the regular media center.

It should be noted that the user can choose from 3 options for the layout of the multimedia system.

The «base» uses a primitive platform, in the middle configuration — a 7-inch display, which is suitable for both the media complex and for navigation, and the premium one — a 10-inch screen with HD-resolution.

The OEM multimedia supports voice control and provides the driver with stable access to Opel Connect services.

Many of the functions that are physically activated are duplicated by hot keys in the infotainment center.

Despite the crossover’s electrification, the front fascia has retained its familiar mechanical switches and basic control levers. Among the physical keys:

• washers of the standard climate system;

• elements of inclusion of heating of seats;

• familiar grip for easy control of the multimedia package.

A push-button control is used to activate driving modes.
The interior space of the Mokka-e 2021 electric car is adapted for simultaneous boarding of up to 5 people, including the driver.

In addition, the car will be offered with 3 types of seats with 6-way adjustment. Chairs will be volumetric ergonomic, with leather trim or made in a sporty style. Comfort options include heated seats and a massage package.

The driver’s seat is characterized by maximum convenience, because it supports flexible positioning, reinforced lateral support and soft padding. The seating position is high enough. Orthopedic sports chairs for the first row can be ordered at an additional cost.

The interior trim includes wireless charging of mobile devices that support this technology, a rear-view camera with up to 180 degrees of visibility, aids and systems for the driver, such as adaptive cruise control and an option to fix the lane.

The salon can be upholstered with natural leather or finished with high-quality Alcantara. According to representatives of the concern, only high-quality materials were used in the decoration of the Mokka-e 2021, which do not cause any complaints.

The capacity of the luggage compartment has hardly changed. If the car is loaded with 5 people, then the rear compartment can accommodate up to 350 liters of luggage.

For example, in previous generations with combustion engines, the boot volume was 356 liters, so the difference is negligible. When the second row of seats is folded down, the capacity increases to 1,372 liters.
