The off-road Porsche 911 Dakar 2023 is revealed in detail in the new photos: changed design, but the same characteristics.

The new Porsche 911 Dakar 2023, which was previously called the Safary, was once again spotted on tests at the Nürburgring racetrack in Germany.

The German company is working hard on this special «off-road» version of its sports car, aiming to introduce it as soon as possible.

A new set of photos of the test prototype that has hit the web reveals previously unknown details about the model.

Of all the street sports cars and supercars, the Porsche 911 is truly unique.

It is constantly being refined, releasing all kinds of modifications.

One of the main differences between the 911 Dakar and the standard variants of the Porsche 911 is the increased ground clearance, which can already be seen in the presented photos.

Also in the images is still noticeable a completely new bumper of the car with large air intakes on the sides.

Its lower part is quite heavily camouflaged, which could indicate additional protection for the «off-road» version of the car.

Of the obvious changes can also be noted wheel arch extenders, vents above the front hood panel, modified rear bumper and lights.

It would seem that a «German» equipped with a long-travel suspension and off-road tires would look out of place. But even such a version of the car came into the world.

Thus, for participation in the races Dakar Classic 2022, the model Carrera 4 of the 964 era was redesigned.

This 1991 car retained its flat six-cylinder engine and five-speed manual transmission.

These are the only original components left in this classic Porsche, though.

The output limit of this air-cooled engine has been increased to 300 horsepower.

The redesigned Porsche 911 is also equipped with double wishbones with adjustable dampers and 35-inch tires that can withstand bouncing under the modified bodywork.

A 160-liter fuel tank will provide the car with fuel during long sprints across the desert.

Inside, the German model is equipped with racing seats and a full protective cage.

Another feature of this Porsche 911 destined for the Dakar is its coloring.

The body of the car is painted white and covered in red spray paint in the style of 80’s and 90’s street art graffiti.

How the interior of the Porsche 911 Dakar will look is unknown, but these photos give some idea of the rear row of seats, or rather its absence.

The fact that here you can see a tubular construction, which creates a safety cage and strengthens the rigidity of the body.

The front part of the sports car’s interior will probably not undergo global changes, but some features will still be present there.

This is not a solution often seen on race cars. But for this particular specimen, this design fits in the best way possible.

Under the Dakar’s rear hood will be the usual 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder gasoline engine from the Porsche Carrera 4.

It generates a maximum 450 hp, which is transmitted to the all-wheel drive system via an eight-speed automatic transmission.

Thus it turns out that the sports car debuting in the first half of next year will receive a number of aesthetic changes, but at the same time, to a greater extent retain the same technical part.

Separately, we note that this project was created by Agostino and Alberto Vassallo of Car & Vintage in collaboration with CountrysideWay and TAG Heuer, who were inspired by the Porsche 953 that won the Paris-Dakar Rally in 1984.
