Porsche 911 Turbo S Cabrio 2021. A year and a half has passed since the debut of the new generation Carrera 992 — it’s time for the powerful Turbo versions.

Moreover, the company did not waste time on trifles and immediately presented the top modification of the Turbo S, although a simpler version without the S prefix is ​​also almost ready and will be presented in the near future.

But the «Esca» immediately appeared in the form of a coupe and a convertible.

The main thing is a new engine. It is made on the basis of a lighter three-liter «boxer» base Carrera: they have the same piston stroke of 76.4 mm in common, but the cylinder diameter is increased and the working volume is 3.75 liters (the predecessor had 3.8 liters).

Two turbochargers — as before, with variable geometry of the guide vanes, but the diameter of the turbine wheel has been increased from 50 to 55 mm, and the diameter of the compressor wheel — from 58 to 61 mm.

In addition, the blades of the two units (each on its side of the cylinder block) now rotate in opposite directions to optimize air flow.

Installed more efficient direct injection piezo injectors, a larger intercooler and electronic control of the wastegate (wastegate).

New intake system — with four enlarged air intakes. And in the end — 650 hp. and 800 Nm versus 580 hp. and 750 Nm for the 991 Turbo S version of the previous generation.

Instead of the seven-speed «robot» PDK with two clutches, there is a new eight-speed preselective gearbox, like Carrera’s.

All-wheel drive transmission — with a reinforced front axle coupling. The tires are 255/35 R20 at the front, and 315/30 R21 at the rear.

Standard equipment — PASM suspension with adaptive dampers, with the ground clearance reduced by 10 mm.

Compared to the previous model, the new Porsche 911 Turbo S has an even wider track: at the front it has been increased by 42 mm and at the rear by 10 mm.

Because of this, the front wheel arches «swelled» by 45 mm, the rear — by 20 mm, and the overall width of the body (along the rear arches) reached 1900 mm.

The visual markers of the Turbo-version of the «nine hundred and eleventh» are the twin blades of the running lights.

Active aerodynamics has also been improved. In addition to the inflatable skirt under the front bumper (which was also on the previous model), there are now movable flaps in the front air intakes: they open only when necessary.

The retractable rear wing is now larger and overall the maximum downforce on the vehicle has increased by 15%.

At the same time, the cars themselves became heavier: for example, the coupe recovered from 1675 to 1715 kg.

But the dynamics have also become better. Although the decrease in the acceleration time to 100 km / h from 2.9 to 2.7 s is far from the main indicator.

Much more importantly, up to 200 km / h, the new coupe fires immediately a second faster than the previous one: in 8.9 seconds.

Convertible time — 9.3 s. The maximum speed has not changed (330 km / h).

The new Porsche 911 Turbo S is already available for order, including in Russia.

A coupe costs at least 15.5 million rubles, and for a convertible they ask from 16.3 million.
