Porsche Panamera 2021.

On August 26, the official premiere of the new Porsche Panamera 2021 model year took place — a fastback, which was last seriously updated 4 years ago.

A thorough restyling affected the entire family: the basic liftbacks have changed, the Executive modification with an extended base has received similar changes, and after it the Sport Turismo station wagon has undergone a facelift.

The update resulted in the appearance of ten modifications of the Porsche Panamera, each of which not only changed in appearance, but also received an upgraded engine.

The most significant innovation can be considered the change of the flagship configuration of the new Porsche Panamera: its status will now be the Turbo S version, which was provided with a 4.0-liter V8 boosted to 630 «forces» and changed the settings of the air suspension, shock absorbers and stabilization system.

And not to be unfounded, the developers sent the new Panamera Turbo S ahead of time to the Nürburgring track, where it set a record for passing the Nordschleife for cars in its class, displacing the former leader of the Mercedes-AMG GT63 S.

Body

The exterior of the model has not changed much, and the easiest way to distinguish the new Porsche Panamera in 2021 is by the rear optics, which received a solid strip of the brake light that stretched across the entire width of the stern.

The transfer of the Sport Design package to the base status can be considered excellent news, which initially makes the appearance of all modifications more sporty, although the Turbo S has its own bumpers with enlarged air ducts, and for the GTS — also darkened rear optics.

Disks that have increased the number of available «designs» to ten can be considered as updates, while two additional shades have appeared in the body color scheme.

Salon

Inside, the 2021 Porsche Panamera can only surprise with a new steering wheel and an upgraded multimedia system. It is reported that the entertainment complex has improved the «audibility» of voice commands and learned to work through Apple CarPlay.

With regard to the set of on-board systems, of which there were already more than a dozen, only the appearance in the initial configuration of the system for keeping the car in the lane (previously available as an option) can be considered news.

Technical stuffing

All engines used in the restyling of the 2021 Porsche Panamera German fastbacks have been homologated or replaced:

3.0-liter «sixes», which were installed on the cheapest modifications of the Panamera (rear-wheel drive) and Panamera 4 (all-wheel drive), became 2.9-liter, but retained their output of 330 hp. from. and 450 Nm.

V-shaped «eight», which was put on the Panamera GTS, added 20 «horses» and became 480-horsepower at 620 Nm of torque. In addition, the exhaust system was replaced with a sports version of the engine (previously it was optional).

The 4.0-liter V8 engine — the most powerful in the range presented — added as much as 80 liters. with., bringing the total power indicator to 630 liters. from. (820 Nm). It will be installed on Turbo S modifications, accelerating to 100 km / h in 3.1 seconds.

For the only hybrid version of the Porsche Panamera, this time a tandem of a turbo six with a capacity of 440 hp is assembled. from. and a 136 hp electric motor. with., built into a robotic 8-speed transmission.

The total power of the Panamera 4S E-Hybrid is 560 hp. at 750 Nm of torque. Acceleration to «hundreds» in a hybrid power plant takes 3.7 seconds, and the maximum speed is electronically limited to a cutoff of 298 km / h. As for the battery, it has become more powerful (17.9 kWh instead of the previous 14.1 kWh), which increased the autonomous mileage to 54 km. (WLTP).

When will it be released in Russia?

German dealerships will start selling new models in October this year. Prices are known: from 91.3 thousand euros for the rear-wheel drive Porsche Panamera 2021 and up to 180 thousand for the Turbo S.

All available modifications will be on sale in Russia by the end of the year, where pre-styling cars are still sold at a price of 6.6 million rubles.

Nürburgring record

The conquest of the Nordic Loop, along with setting a new track record, was part of an advertising campaign dedicated to the renewal of the Panamera family, so the record lap itself was captured in a video overlaid with graphics that showed the engine’s performance.

The Porsche Panamera Turbo S took 7 minutes 29.81 seconds to overcome the 20.8-kilometer lap, and at its peak it developed 634 hp. from. and 832 Nm.

Recall that the absolute record of the «old» Nurburgring is also held by Porsche: in 2018, the 919 Hybrid Evo showed an incredible time of 5:19, which to this day remains unattainable for many contenders.
