Porsche Taycan Turbo S 2022 received a wide-body bodykit from Prior Design.

Outwardly, the new Porsche Tycan 2022 was in many ways already familiar — the design of the electric car almost entirely repeats the design of the Mission E concept four years ago, while the appearance itself is as close to the similar-sized Panamera.

It has the same sloping roof and small windows in the rear pillars, but if Panamera is a liftback, Taikan is a sedan: its trunk lid rises without rear window.


A new platform called PPE (Premium Platform Electric) was developed for the Porsche Tycan 2022, which is designed to build electric models and provides a traction battery integrated into the power structure of the floor.

Later, an Audi e-tron GT electric car will be presented on a similar chassis. At the same time, some elements from the Panamera are used in the suspension of the model.

The mass of the car is about 2,300 kg, of which the body weighs only 170 kg, and its torsional rigidity is an impressive 42,000 Nm/gr.

The power structure of the car is mostly made of steel, and the exterior panels are almost all aluminum.

The electric sedan has an overall length of 4,963 mm, a wheelbase of 2,900, a width of 1,966, and a height of 1,381. At the same time there are two trunks — the volume of the back is 366 liters (folding backs of the second row is not provided), the front is designed for 81 liters.

The Turbo version provides 218 hp (300 Nm) of power at the front, while the rear engine develops 408 hp and 550 Nm of torque. Their total output reaches 625 «horses» and 850 Nm, and in overboost mode (operates for 2.5 seconds), the peak power reaches 680 hp.

As a result, this electric car needs 3.2 seconds to accelerate from 0 to 100 km / h, the second hundred it covers in 9.8 seconds, and a quarter mile makes for 10.8 seconds.

Top speed is limited to 260 km/h (in this case the electric motors rustle at the limit of 16,000 rpm), while the driving range (according to the cycle WLTP) on a full charge is stated at 450 kilometers.

The top version of the model is equipped with similar engines and the same 93.4 kWh battery, but here a more powerful inverter and other settings are used. As a result, the total output of the electric motors already reaches 761 hp and 1,050 Nm — note that all this traction is available from the touchdown.

From a place up to a hundred the new Porsche Tycan Turbo S shoots in 2.8 seconds, but the maximum speed here is the same.

Cruising range at the same time is slightly lower — 421 km, although in real conditions for such mileage is still not worth counting on. But to the promise of the manufacturer that the car can make ten starts from a place up to a hundred (and four starts up to 200 km/h) without loss of efficiency is quite possible.

In the summer of 2022, the Porsche Taycan Turbo S became the fastest production electric car at the Nordschleife, breaking the 20.8-kilometer ring in 7 minutes and 33.35 seconds, which is two seconds faster than the previous better result in this class, which belonged to the Tesla Model S Plaid.

The top-end all-wheel-drive versions of the Porsche Taycan look almost the same as the basic rear-wheel-drive, so the tuners from Prior Design have prepared a spectacular body kit for them.

The latter is designed especially for the older versions — Turbo and Turbo S. It allows making these versions of the model more conspicuous on the roads.

It is reported that the components of the body kit are made of light, but very durable fiberglass Dura-Flex.

It includes a new front splitter, making the «face» of the car more aggressive.

The sports car also received widened wheel arches, and the front ones attract attention with effective «gills».

And also the studio developed for the four-door more conspicuous side «skirts», and of the innovations on the rear is worth noting the new rear spoiler and diffuser, which look much more impressive than the stock.

The bodykit from German workshop consists of ten components and costs 8,950 Euro (550,000 RUB at current exchange rate), but customers can order it in parts if they want.

So, the front splitter will cost €1,590 (97,000 rubles), side «skirts» in €1,490 (91,000 rubles), stern spoiler in €890 (54,000 rubles) and rear diffuser in €1,590 (97,000 rubles).

It’s interesting that bodykit from Prior Desijn also fits for junior versions of the model (Taycan, Taycan 4 and Taycan 4S), but before that they should be equipped with front bumper and diffuser from older versions Turbo and Turbo S.
