Renault Duster Oroch updated 2022. Updated Renault Duster Oroch pickup spotted before the premiere.

Production of the first generation Dacia/Renault Duster crossovers has been discontinued all over the world.

But one of its varieties still remains in production — this pickup Renault Duster Oroch, which is produced in Brazil since 2015.

Moreover, to make a similar car on the basis of the «second» Duster in the company is in no hurry, and instead the Brazilian division of Renault carried out a restyling of the available pickup.

There was no premiere yet, but the production of updated cars has already started: marketable cars were photographed in one of the ports of Argentina.

Rumors that the Oroch will be seriously upgraded proved to be exaggerated.

Based on the photos the restyling was very modest: the first generation Duster is recognizable without a doubt.

The truck has changed only the trim: bumpers, grille, covers on wheel arches, roof rails. And the taillights’ diffusers are made transparent.

There are no pictures of the interior yet, but there should be a modern media complex.

According to preliminary information, the base will have a stabilization system.

The original 1.6 engine (120 hp) will remain, and instead of the two-liter diesel engine Duster Oroch will get a familiar turbo 1.3 TCe: not so long ago it was put on the Brazilian Duster second generation, and in the local version it develops 170 hp.

Until now the Duster Oroch was a purely South American product, but after the restyling the sales geography will be expanded.

For example, deliveries to Africa are planned. More information will appear after the official premiere, which, apparently, will take place very soon.

In South America, the Duster Oroch is available exclusively as a double cab pickup with 1.6-liter and 2.0-liter engines. In 2022, the larger of the two «atmospheric» engines will allegedly be replaced with a «turbo four».

Before the first appearances of the new Renault Duster Oroch, it was expected that the pickup, derived from the SUV of the same name, would have the same visual updates as the new generation Duster released in 2020.

But we already know that the new Duster Oroch will get a Half-Life update, based on the restyled Duster sold in India (which hasn’t changed generations).

In other words, the restyled pickup should have a new grille that comes down close to the plate area, filled with horizontal ridges in relief.

Given the appearance of the camouflaged prototypes spotted by photographers in November, we can say that the update will be very light, so much so that it won’t affect the profile at all, except for the appearance of newly designed wheels, while the rear should only get new lamp graphics.

The pickup should bring back an automatic transmission in the lineup, but a variator type.

We should not forget that the new Duster Oroch is the latest update to the pickup, which is due to change generation at the end of 2024, production of which was confirmed in Argentina by the president of the local Renault division, Pablo Sibill.

Sibill made it clear that the Duster Oroch replacement will likely be introduced as a 2025 model.
