Rolls-Royce Phantom 2022: the eighth generation of the luxury executive sedan.

For eight generations, Rolls-Royce brand sedans have been topping the ratings for the most expensive, comfortable and technically advanced luxury cars.

The eighth generation model was no exception, which came out under the name Rolls-Royce Phantom 2022.

In the new hypostasis elite three-wheeler demonstrates a monumental body design, benchmark indicators of comfort of the interior, advanced characteristics of comfort and functional options. Restyling marked itself:

point update of the exterior;
expansion of the functional componentry;
transition to a new platform and refinement of traction and speed parameters of the new engine.

Exterior

Retaining the styling features of the branded body layout, the modernized 2022 Phantom still looks elegant and presentable, while looking more modern at the same time. In the front view photo, the luxury rear-wheel-drive sedan provides for review:

The silver perimeter of the windshield;
narrow vertical slats of the large-format, statuette-adorned «Spirit of Ecstasy» radiator grille;
rectangular configuration of compact units of powerful laser optics.

The massive bumper is equipped with a set of slotted ventilation diffusers, a platform for the registration plate, a rectangular contour of the air intake and small-sized metal dodger.

From the front, the luxury sedan looks solid and expressive, but somewhat monolithic and heavyweight.

In profile projection, the new eighth-generation luxury sedan body demonstrates features of the classic layout with a long engine compartment and a short overhang, decorative chrome window trim, vertical uprights of stylish mirrors and proportional correlation of body reliefs.

The list of design solutions includes low ground clearance, voluminous wheel arches with titanium 22-inch wheels, generous door openings and additional reflectors on the side fenders.

The rear side of the body is designed in the best corporate traditions. In the field of view is a very conventional difference in the slope of the rear window and a short luggage compartment lid, exclusive graphics clearance stop LED lights, massive bumper with cutouts for two large-caliber exhaust pipes.

Interior

The interior design of the updated Phantom is dominated only by premium and unique in its range of materials, including natural handmade leather, precious woods and decorative accents of polished titanium composite.

The interior equipment of the elite four-door combines an uncompromising level of luxury and seating comfort with progressive, innovative technology and design layout solutions.

Through the upper section of the multifunctional multifunctional dial, the entire format of the 12-inch digital instrument panel is perfectly visible.

The upper part of the three-storey console occupies the display of the multimedia on-board complex, followed by a block of round ventilation deflectors and a platform with the activators of numerous functional and comfort-creating options.

The design of the tunnel includes a gearshift puck, a premium list of organizers and combined with the armrest cooler.

Pilot seats are unparalleled in terms of road comfort, automation and equipment perfection.

In addition to a wide range of adjustments, ventilation and heating systems, there is a preset memory and several modes of vibration massage.

Electronic preferences are also not deprived of the two seats in the rear row. The design features include:

The ergonomic layout of the swivel seats;
the ability to view video from the displays built into the front headrests;
the function of adjusting the individual microclimate and the presence of a minibar;
the effectiveness of interior noise insulation.

The roomy saloon of the sedan harmoniously combines with the 548-liter volume of the luggage compartment.

Technical specifications

After switching to a new, stiffer and lighter platform modular configuration, the Rolls-Royce Phantom 2022 retained the dimensions of its successful predecessor unchanged in proportional combinations of 5762 x 2021 and 1646 mm.

The new model is also claimed to have a body length of 5772 mm.

Suspension of the undercarriage is pneumatic, with integrated active roll compensation circuits and electronically controlled shock absorber stiffness.

Depending on the condition of the road surface the clearance height can vary from 135 to 221 mm.

The updated Phantom has an optional 12-cylinder petrol engine with 6.7 liter/571 hp/900 Nm of torque.

The test drive confirmed the time to 100 km/h — 5,3 seconds. «The maximum speed at 250 km/h is limited by the electronic blocking.

The safety of high speed modes is provided by low center of gravity, variable height of the clearance, effective work of travel stabilizers and electronic assistant components.

Options and Prices

On the EU market the new Rolls-Royce Phantom 2022 is available with a standard base and extended body.

The price in ruble equivalent is 36.5 and 44.5 million units of Russian currency respectively.
