Skoda Enyaq 2021-2022. It’s no secret that over the past couple of years, the production of electric cars has grown rapidly, and each manufacturer has several electric models in its arsenal.

Electric crossovers are becoming much more popular, which are not inferior in power to copies with an internal combustion engine. Skoda decided to keep up with the trend with the introduction of the all-electric Enyaq model.

Taking into account the already existing names in the Skoda model line, we can conclude that the Q at the end of the name of this model classifies it as a crossover, and in the future the manufacturer will in every possible way hint at this with various details or numbers.

The official premiere of the novelty took place at the beginning of September 2020, but now it became also that the novelty will arrive in Russia and the nearest European countries.

Initially, the manufacturer intended to present 5 power options for the Skoda Enyaq electric car, as well as several options for the battery in terms of capacity.

As time has shown, at the start of sales, the buyer was offered only three different modifications (the difference in battery, unit power and power reserve).

As for the design of the new Skoda Enyaq, here they soon made a mixture of the recognizable exterior and slightly diluted with the modern style of electric cars.

If we talk about the interior of an electric crossover, then there is nothing superfluous, but everything you need for comfortable movement over long distances.

Let’s consider the new electric car Skoda Enyaq in more detail, as well as the main differences between the trim levels.

Skoda Enyaq 2021-2022. Exterior of the new electric car

The appearance of the new electric crossover Skoda Enyaq iV is something in between. The designers wanted to make the electric car modern and stylish, while the task was to preserve the recognizable design and individual features of the body.

If you do not peer into the details, then the new product can be confused with the Karoq and Kodiaq already presented on the market.

An elongated body, a strict front end and a minimum of chrome elements. On the other hand, a relatively low ground clearance will allow you to overcome curbs and small irregularities in the city, but in no way off-road dirt roads or impassable sections.

At the front, the new Skoda Enyaq iV electric crossover resembles the latest generation of the Skoda Octavia in many ways. Tapered optics, large front grille and sporty bumper.

Starting with the basic configuration of the Skoda Enyaq electric car, the optics will be fully LED. As the configuration grows, the manufacturer offers matrix optics with additional control systems (high and low beam, oncoming traffic recognition, etc.).

The lower part of the optics was decorated with LED running lights.

Most interesting of all, the manufacturer Skoda Enyaq came up with a radiator grill solution. Often, new electric cars simply do not have it, but then the view deteriorates.

Here in Skoda Eniak, the radiator grille remained to perform its function, supplying a small amount of air to the engine compartment, thereby cooling the electric motor and individual working elements.

Typically, the radiator grille is gloss black, with vertical slits and chrome surround. As an option, the manufacturer offers to install LED backlighting, as well as highlight the company’s logo at the end of the hood.

Still, there is a minus, for a complete set with a rear engine (on the rear axle), the radiator grill will be in the form of a dummy and performs only a decorative role, and under the hood there will be an additional luggage compartment.

Another detail of the Skoda Enyaq that attracts attention is the front bumper. Unlike serial models with internal combustion engines, the electric car has a bumper with a sporty character.

Many elements are rough, with chopped shapes and sharp edges. On the sides, the bumper received a pair of small air intakes, in the central part there is an additional radiator grill with a mesh insert, and the very bottom is emphasized by a black plastic edging.

The last part of the Skoda Enyaq front end is the hood. If you close the front end from the middle of the radiator grill and down, the new electric car can easily be confused with the new Skoda Octavia.

The central part of the hood received a slight rise, but closer to the edges there are a couple of cascades, but with smoother lines.

One drawback that the engineers calculated is the hood latch, you need to reach for it (installed deeper under the hood), and it’s not so easy to open it.

From the side, the new Skoda Enyaq electric car looks no less grandiose. One thing is not clear why the manufacturer decided to class it as an SUV, because the ground clearance is not very high, and it is desirable to drive it on asphalt.

On the other hand, the clearance is sufficient, because do not forget that the batteries are installed below, even despite the protection in the form of a steel sheet.

In terms of dimensions, the Skoda Enyaq body turned out to be small, with a small rear deaf glass. This is a direct allusion to the fact that the electric car will only be 5-seater and two rows of seats.

The edging around the glass is chrome-plated and, rather, that chrome ends there, although it can be completely black.

Another eye-catching detail, especially on the white exterior, is the black air vents on the side fenders. Despite the electric motor, the manufacturer still thought about aerodynamics, which also served to cool the working parts.

Otherwise, the side of the Skoda Enyaq looks good. The buyer was offered 8 different shades to choose from, while blue would be considered standard, 633 euros would have to be paid for the remaining 6 shades, and the top-end corduroy red would cost the buyer an additional 1,051 euros.

If the front of the novelty is somewhat reminiscent of the new Octavia, then the rear of the new Skoda Enyaq electric car reminds many of the company’s crossovers.

However, the designers have refined the hind feet, making them narrower. The feet themselves are fully LED, with a sharp shape and a narrowed part on the trunk lid.

If we talk about the appearance of the new electric car Skoda Enyaq, then it looks quite good and modern. The designers have combined the recognizable style of the company, while only improving the electric car, adding rigor and a sporty look to it.

The interior of the new crossover

Despite the large multimedia display, the manufacturer Skoda Enyaq has not abandoned mechanical buttons, placing a small panel just below the air ducts.

Among the main buttons, it is worth noting the activation of the parking assistant, heated windshield and rear windows, the choice of the travel mode and the emergency button.

The central tunnel between the front seats of the Skoda Enyaq turned out to be much more interesting. The lining on the sides of the tunnel is made from the same material as the seats.

The interior of the Skoda Enyaq itself is designed for only 5 seats and no more, although there were earlier rumors about a 7-seater modification of the electric crossover.

The front seats of the electric car are made in a sporty style. High backrest, good lateral support and adjustable headrests.

The seat adjustment will be electrical, but for now, mechanical adjustment should not be ruled out for the base trim. The second row of seats, as already mentioned, is designed for three seats, with a center armrest in the back of the seat.

If necessary, the second row can be folded in a 60/40 ratio, thereby increasing the free space in the trunk.

Specifications

As already mentioned, the new Skoda Enyaq is completely electric. According to the manufacturer, 5 electric motors of different power will enter the market, but so far it is reliably known about three options.

These are Enyaq 50, 60 and 80, it is assumed that the 4th and 5th versions are 80x and RS modification.

Despite the different range and power of electric motors, all Skoda Enyaq configurations accelerate to a maximum of 160 km / h, only RS configuration will be able to accelerate to 180 km / h.

In addition to maximum acceleration, the Skoda Enyaq RS can tow a trailer weighing up to 1400 kilograms.

The company also claims that thanks to a heat pump and a modified heating system, in frosty weather, more precisely at minus 25 degrees Celsius, the new Enyaq will be able to drive longer than competitors.
