The smallest crossover Skoda: Czechs unveiled the new Kushaq crossover.

In mid-March 1921 Skoda has declassified crossover Kushaq, designed specifically for the Indian market.

The company again managed to find a model name that begins with «K» and ends with «Q» — translated from Sanskrit (the ancient literary language of India) it means «King» or «Emperor».

The new Skoda Kushaq 2022 is the first model of the Czech brand built under the «India 2.0» strategy.

The latter is designed to strengthen Volkswagen’s position in the local market.

However, declassified crossover full-fledged novelty is still not.

In fact, in front of us modified model of Skoda Kamiq for local requirements.

The Indian all-terrain vehicle differs from the last one in changed design of «muzzle» with other head optics, and also small plugs instead of windows in back racks of a roof.

Architecture of interior of Skoda Kushak in general repeats the same on the same Kamik, but the front panel here is original.

It draws attention with larger ventilation deflectors, as well as a 10.0-inch tablet-shaped screen of the multimedia system, under which the Czech placed a touchscreen climate control unit.

Depending on a complete set, the parka can have up to six airbags, thus its top ones flaunt ventilation of front seats and developed contour illumination.

The Skoda Kushak 2022 is based on the MQB-A0-IN platform, which is a simplified and cheapened version of the global «bogie».

Overall length of the car is 4,221 mm, wheelbase — 2,651, width — 1,760, height — 1,612 mm, ground clearance — 188 millimeters. The claimed volume of the trunk — 385 liters (1,405 liters with folded seats).

In the base the Indian crossover comes with a liter of gasoline «turbo» TSI capacity of 115 hp, which can operate either with a mechanics, or a six-speed automatic.

As an alternative the auto can be ordered with 1,5-liter «turbo four» TSI with 150 powers. Manual gearboxes and seven-band DSG robot (a model DQ200) are offered, and the drive is front-wheel drive only.

The new Skoda Kushaq will be assembly line at the Indian plant in Pune.

The claimed degree of localization of the model is impressive — 95%, and the local plant will even produce a liter engine. Cost of the crossover is not called yet.
