Skoda Octavia Scout 2021: off-road station wagon with increased dimensions and new body design.
In the new, third generation, the Czech station wagon Skoda Octavia Scout 2021 traditionally combines European parameters of comfort and safety with reliability and affordable cost.

The new model has retained the continuity with the Volkswagen Golf platform; the new items include increased body dimensions, as well as an expanded list of original design and technological developments.

Future owners will be pleased with the dynamic characteristics of powertrain components, additional functionality of standard and top-end options.

Appearance

The Scout station wagon differs from the 2017 model in a modified layout and the amount of external decor, two-story xenon or top-end LED optics, stylish angular mirrors and increased ground clearance.

Skoda Octavia Scout 2021 comes with exclusive 18- or 19-inch wheels.

A review of the photo of the station wagon that received another restyling shows that the design of the new modification harmoniously combines elements of the new body design with the recognizable features of the corporate Skoda style.

In the most expressive and winning front projection, the novelty demonstrates:

• sports ribbed profiles of a wide hood inclined along the leading edge;

• corporate configuration of the radiator grille decorated with chrome-plated perimeter;

• compact trapezoidal format of multi-element headlights.

The lower segment of the front end looks somewhat sporty. In the field of view, the block layout of the ventilation air intake and side diffusers supplemented with running lights, as well as a small-sized plastic body kit decorated with a chrome trim.

In the design of the front end, the functional and decorative properties of the aerodynamic wave and aggressive stepped external relief are successfully used.

In profile, the new generation Scout attracts the eye with a slight difference in the angles of the hood and the panoramic windshield, the sloping roofline sloping to the stern, the contrast of the silver frame and matt black pillars of the three sectional windows.

The lower-end layout of the business-styled body includes a bit of stepped relief focused on the side skirts and wheel arches. The elements of plastic protection of the lower hull perimeter fit perfectly into the surroundings.

The design of the rear of the body shows the characteristic features of the crossover layout. These are, first of all:

• steep slope of the rear window shaded with a spoiler;

• embossed tailgate carrying the inner sections of wedge-shaped lights and chrome nameplates;

• complete with anti-fog lighting and curly protective panel metal-plastic body kit.

Salon

In the interior of the new model range, the main updates are already visible at a superficial review. In particular, the upgrade had a positive effect on expanding the range and quality of finishing materials.

The left side of the front panel is occupied by a combined analog-digital instrument panel. The functions of activation and operational adjustment of the onboard equipment are assigned to the command buttons of the multifunction steering wheel and the 10-inch media monitor of the center console.

On the lower tier of the dashboard there is a line of analog buttons and a double block of ventilation and heating deflectors. The complete set of the small-sized tunnel includes transmission controls, a typical set of organizers.

The tunnel is completed by a spacious glove compartment for small-sized luggage located under the folding armrest.
The new body of the Skoda Scout model of 2021 with increased dimensions provides the driver with seating comfort corresponding to a more status car.

• The assets of the soft and well-profiled front seats: adjustable head restraints, full lumbar and lateral support, standard range of adjustments, heated and ventilated seats.

• Standard road service for the rear sofa. The lack of special functions compensates for the large amount of personal space, the possibility of reclining the backrest and transforming the center seat into a wide armrest.

The design of the sofa provides for the possibility of increasing the volume of the luggage compartment from 640 to 2000 liters due to the partial dismantling of the rear sofa backs. Stowage of the back of the right front seat allows you to transport lengths up to three meters.

Specifications

The new Skoda Octavia Scout 2021 inherited from its predecessor, an elongated all-wheel drive VW MQB platform with a combined post-MacPherson and multi-link axle suspension that is comfortable on problem roads, a set of transverse stabilizers and effective safety systems.

The version of the all-wheel drive Scout for the domestic market will be equipped with more energy-intensive shock absorbers and reliable protection of the engine crankcase.

The increased body dimensions are formatted in nominal ratios of 4685×1814 and 1531 mm. In the design features of the off-road station wagon, the base is extended to 2679 mm and the ground clearance increased to 171 mm.

• Despite the increased model range to five options, the Scout for the Russian market will receive a 1.5-liter gasoline engine with an output of 150 hp, which is accompanied by a six-speed manual gearbox.

• Alternatively, a tandem of a 200hp / 400 Nm 2.0-liter diesel engine and a seven-speed robotic transmission will be offered.

A preliminary test drive showed the optimal starting, running and consumption characteristics for each configuration.

Options and prices

The price of each of the five modifications will be announced in the near future. The cost will be formed taking into account the engine power, the number and capabilities of the technical and electronic equipment.
