The 2020 SsangYong Rexton is an all-wheel drive SUV with a 7-seater interior and an ultra-rigid frame.

The 2020 Sanyeng Rexton is a full-fledged SUV equipped with turbodiesel or gasoline engines, which are combined with a manual or automatic transmission.

Korean model and plug-in all-wheel drive available. In terms of equipment, the Rexton is comparable to the Nissan X-Trail, Haval H9 and Kia Mohave. By default, the Korean SUV is equipped with air conditioning, an infotainment complex with an 8-inch touchscreen, a rear-view camera and other equipment.

Rexton at its maximum is equipped with a 9.2-inch HD-screen with touch control, seven seats and numerous security systems. The Korean model also stands out from the competition thanks to the more rigid power frame of the body.

Options and prices

In fact, the 2020 Sanyeng Rexton received a new body for a long time. The current version of the SUV, judging by the published photos, differs from its predecessor in subtle details.

The car has not yet returned to the Russian market, and therefore the given configurations and prices are taken from European dealers. And if the list of equipment after the release of the SUV in our country may change, the technical characteristics of the Korean model will remain the same.


Prices for Sanyeng Rexton 2020 start at 2.3 million rubles. This modification provides a 2-liter turbo engine and a 6-speed manual transmission.

The basic equipment includes:

o leather steering wheel with contrasting inserts;
o LED optics and projection headlights;
o 17-inch alloy wheels;
o electronic cruise control;
o light and rain sensors;
o electric rear-view mirrors with heating;
o 3.5-inch monochrome display on the dashboard;
o manual air conditioner with anti-fogging system and air quality control.

SsangYong Rexton already in the basic configuration is supplemented with reinforcements of the structure to make it more rigid. In the starter version, all seats are upholstered in fabric.

The security complex includes:

o four-channel anti-lock braking system;
o electronic stabilization system;
o thrust vector control system;
o assistant when driving uphill and downhill;
o rollover warning system;
o lane keeping and cross-traffic warning system;
o high beam control system;
o traffic sign recognition system;
o 6 airbags;
o wheel pressure monitoring sensors;
o forward and reverse collision avoidance system with two-stage signaling.

Also, the starting configuration includes a multimedia complex with six columns, an 8-inch touchscreen monitor and a rear-view camera.

SsangYong Rexton 2020.


The mid-range 2020 SsangYong Rexton complements the base one with heated first and second row seats, dual-zone climate control and an 8-inch color display on the dashboard. The security complex included 9 airbags at once.

All seats of the Korean SUV are trimmed with Nappa leather. The multimedia complex in this modification has been replenished with a 9.2-inch touchscreen displaying HD video and proprietary navigation. In addition, the car has acquired 18-inch wheels.


Seats with quilted Nappa leather trim appear in the top configuration. The driver’s seat and side mirrors are complemented by an electric drive that remembers the settings.

The 2020 SsangYong Rexton comes with LED fog lights, all-round visibility, power tailgate, ventilated front seats and 20-inch wheels. The security complex is being expanded by systems for detecting blind spots, warning about cars from behind and from the side, as well as assistance when changing lane.

The updated Rexton is offered with two powerplants, complemented by a turbocharger, and three gearboxes. By default, the Korean model is equipped with a 2-liter engine that develops up to 225 hp. net power and 350 N * m of torque.

Together with it, a 6-speed manual or automatic transmission is installed on the car. In this version, the Korean SUV consumes about 9.7 liters of fuel.

For a surcharge, a 2.2-liter diesel unit appears under the hood of the Rexton. Its maximum output is increased to 181 hp, and the thrust is 400 or 420 N * m.

The first torque is generated in conjunction with a 6-speed manual transmission, the second with a 7-speed automatic. The average fuel consumption of Rexton with such a technical part varies between 7.6-8.1 liters.

As standard, all versions of the Korean SUV are front-wheel drive. An optional all-wheel drive is offered, realized by means of a multi-plate clutch.

Looking at the exterior of SsangYong Rexton, it seems that the Korean model is a full-fledged workhorse.

All body parts are relatively simple in design. Unlike other modern SUV models, the Rexton still has quite large head optics.

Visually, the headlights are combined with a metal strip with a radiator grille. The bumper below is divided into several sections, each with an air vent.

The side section of the body is made in the standard SUV style with massive wheel arches and sharp transitions between individual elements. The Rexton feed is no less simple in design.

The main feature of the rear part of the body is the bumper with an original insert stretching between the fog lamps.

The specified effect disappears after landing in the salon. The interior of Rexton is finished with quality materials. Leather is even present on the dashboard and door cards.

The center console with a slightly submerged multimedia screen resembles a similar stack of Ford models.

The front seats are characterized by the presence of developed lateral support, and the rear sofa freely accepts up to five adult passengers.


Rexton has to compete with:

o Haval H9;
o Toyota Fortuner;
o Nissan X-Trail;
o Kia Mohave.
