Subaru Ascent 2022.

Subaru Ascent 2022: The Japanese have updated the big crossover for the U.S. market.

The new crossover Subaru Ascent, which has become the biggest car in the history of the brand, premiered at the Los Angeles Auto Show on 2700.

The key market for the eight-seat all-terrain vehicle is the United States.

Recall that the company previously produced the B9 Tribeca model, but its sales turned out to be far from expected, so the release had to be stopped ahead of time.

Having worked on the mistakes, the manufacturer has made the new Subaru Ascent larger, more spacious and more beautiful than its predecessor.

In terms of design, the new 2022 Subaru Ascent is styled under the name «Dynamic x Solid» with a massive signature hexagonal grille, muscular wheel arches and modern lighting fixtures with diode sections.

Presented in the summer of the twenty-second restyled version of the Japanese crossover got a different lighting, increased in size grille and modified front bumper.

The Onyx Edition with black decor in the exterior trim also remained.

The design of the front panel in the interior of the Subaru Ascent made in the same vein as in other representatives of the brand with a large color screen on the center console and a small additional display above it, hidden under the visor.

In the updated car already in the base is a large vertical «tablet» with a diagonal of 11.6 inches (previously went to 6.5 or 8.0″).

There are also wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, all-around cameras, interior intercom, upgraded system EyeSight, as well as the function «Automatic Emergency Steering», which helps the driver steer away from obstacles at speeds up to 80 km/h.

The Subaru Ascent 2022 has three rows of seats by default, with the second and third rows each accommodating three people.

For the top versions, two split seats on the middle row are available for free, and the passage to the gallery is designed to facilitate the opening at a wide angle of up to 75 degrees rear doors.

For the comfort of all passengers, the interior of all-terrain vehicle found a place for 19 (!) cup holders and drink holders, plus there are eight USB ports, a socket at 120 volts and three-zone climate control with air ducts for the second and third rows.

Specifications

The basis of the Subaru Ascent 2022 in the new body is stretched and reinforced with additional crossbars Subaru Global Platform (SGP) modular platform with McPherson struts in front and multilever in the back.

Overall length of the car is 4,998 mm, the size of the wheelbase — 2,890, width — 1,930, height — 1,819 mm, ground clearance is stated at 220 millimeters.

The volume of the trunk doesn’t specify, but even by default it has quite a respectable size, and certainly with folded backrests the compartment can be increased up to impressive figures.

Under a hood of Subaru Ascendant is placed absolutely new 2,4-liter petrol turbo-engine capacity of 264 h.p. (376 Nm), combining in pair with strengthened V-belt variator Lineartronic and the firm system of a full drive Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive.

The company claims the vehicle can pull a trailer weighing up to 2,268 kg.

This engine from the series FA with direct injection, dual-flow turbocharger and the same piston stroke (86 mm) is a development of a two-liter unit from the younger models, while the diameter of the cylinders was increased from 86 to 94 mm.

For confident driving on rough terrain crossover is equipped with an electronic system X-Mode, and on asphalt it helps function Active Torque Vectoring, which can slightly slow down in the bends the inner front wheel and adding traction on the outer.

Prices and Equipment

Production of Subaru Ascent is carried out exclusively at the plant in Indiana (USA), the start of sales of the model across the ocean came in the summer of ’18, and restyled cars will appear in the showrooms of local dealers in the fall of ’22.

Four complete sets are provided for the crossover: Base, Premium, Limited and Touring, the price for the pre-reformed version varies from $33,000 to $46,000.

In base there are seven airbags and complex EyeSight with two cameras, adaptive cruise control, and functions of automatic braking and road marking tracking.

As options are offered completely LED headlights, electric front seats with ventilation function, heated steering wheel and seats of the second row, standard navigation and so on.

Japanese at least twice considered the possibility of delivering Subaru Ascent in Russia, but now this is out of the question.
