The Tata Avinya concept has crossed one generation.

The Indian Tata has been getting a little enthusiastic about concept cars. Just in early April, the Tata Curvv crossover was unveiled, heralding a second-generation electric car expected to hit the assembly line in a year-and-a-half or two.

And now another show car called the Tata Avinya has debuted, and it looks even further into the future.

The concept has been developed by Tata Passenger Electric Mobility (TPEM) division, and its name means ‘innovation’ in Sanskrit.

It is supposed to be the third generation of the Tata Electric Passenger Mobility, the development of which was started without reference to petrol and diesel cars.

Hence the great freedom of the layout: wheels spaced in the corners of the body, a spacious interior with a flat floor and so on.

The concept car has swiveling front seats and a steering wheel with a display on the hub. There are no screens on the front panel — they are replaced by a wide projection display.

The developers promise advanced software, a range of at least 500 km on a single charge and fast recharging in about half an hour.

This car is based on the progressive Gen-3 platform. The car is due to debut in 2025.

Tata Motors of India has made a presentation of a concept car of an electric crossover Avinya.

This car is based on Gen-3 architecture. From the exterior, short overhangs are striking, but the wheelbase is very long. This should provide a lot of space in the cabin.

We should note the hinged doors — though we don’t know whether such a solution will remain in the production version.

On a full charge, the Tata Avinya can travel up to 500 km.

The roof is almost entirely made of glass — an excellent and impressive solution, but there may be difficulties with the crash tests.

We were expecting a huge screen to be installed in the Avinya.

However, there is no multimedia. There is only dashboard integrated into a steering wheel.

There are also monitors, from which comes the image from the rear view cameras.

If we go back to the technical part, the new Gen-3 platform will become more technologically advanced and progressive not only in terms of the engine, but also manageability.

The car will be better adapted to dust on the roads and hot weather, which is very relevant for India. Serial production should start in 2025.
