The Tata Nexon EV has become more powerful and long-range.

Even in India, mass-produced electric cars are already being produced. In 2020, Tata began production of the Tigor EV sedan and the Nexon EV parker with a unified electric filling of its own Ziptron series.

Sales have been relatively successful, especially considering the extremely underdeveloped charging infrastructure in India: by the beginning of this year, the Nexon EV’s circulation reached 13,000 units, and monthly sales of the two electric models have already exceeded 2,200 units.

Now a more advanced Tata Nexon EV Max is entering the market.

Recall, the base model Tata Nexon with a length of 3994 mm has been produced since 2017.

Two years ago it underwent a major restyling, and now it is the best-selling crossover in the Indian market.

The electric version is as unified as possible with gasoline and diesel cars, but it still has the original floor panel, because there is a traction battery underneath.

The volume of the trunk is the same 350 liters as the internal combustion engine versions.

The battery is the main difference in the new version Max: capacity of lithium-ion battery is increased from 30.2 to 40.5 kW∙h.

The thickness of the battery has increased, so the ground clearance is 10 mm less.

The electric car became about 100 kg heavier, but the mileage per charge increased from 312 to 437 km according to the ARAI Indian standard.

The front-mounted traction motor delivers 143 hp and 250 Nm versus the 129 hp and 245 Nm of the base electric car.

Acceleration time to a «hundred» has been reduced from 9.9 to 9.0 seconds. It is now possible to adjust the efficiency of recuperation.

The Nexon EV can also be charged with a 50 kW DC terminal.
