The serial crossover BMW XM 2023. Patent images of the production version of the crossover with the new index XM appeared in the network this week, which allow us to discern all the main features of the novelty’s appearance.

Today’s flagship crossover is the three-row X7, which premiered its only generation so far in the fall of 2018.

Last April, it underwent a significant restyling, during which it received a double-deck headlamp.

A similar solution has previously been demonstrated on the concept of a large XM hybrid crossover, which was first shown last fall.

Now the German company is preparing a production version of this parkette, and we have the opportunity to assess how it will differ from the concept.

The production XM has quite a lot in common with the concept, but at the same time they are noticeably different.

First of all, the crossover will get a smaller grille, while it will retain the horizontal bars.

Headlights will remain «two-storey» and a contrasting black insert in the front bumper, but their shape will be slightly different.

The wheel arches will be wide, but in the production version they will be more rounded.

Another distinctive feature that will be added to the standard model is a kind of molding that runs along the sides of the body just below the sill line.

The front pillars will be body-colored, while the concept model will have black pillars.

Unlike other flagship models of the company (the new 7-Series and electric iX), the crossover will get traditional door handles.

As for the rear, the production XM will retain the angular exhaust pipes made in two tiers and brand logos located in the upper corners of the rear window.

The horizontally stretched lights will be quite impressive in size, but their shape is noticeably simpler than in the concept.

The new XM will be equipped with a hybrid power plant consisting of a gasoline twin-turbo 4.4 V8 engine (S68) and an electric motor.

The combined power of the initial modification, which can get the index 50e, will be 644 hp and 184 Nm of torque.

There will also be a more powerful Black Label version, the specifications of which will be close to the concept — 740 hp and 1,000 Nm of torque.

Its premiere could take place before the end of this year.

The XM model will be more expensive than the current flagship X7, the official price of which today starts at 9,350,000 rubles (30d, 249 hp).

The most powerful 530 hp version with the index M50i is priced at least at 12,250,000 rubles.
