The new Touring Superleggera Arese RH95  2022 supercar based on Ferrari.

Touring Superleggera is one of the oldest operating brands in the world of automotive design: the Touring carrozzeria was founded back in 1926. 40 years later, the company was forced to close in order to revive in 2008, but even during this hiatus, the brand was used for a few side projects.

Anyway, this year the Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera celebrates its 95th anniversary and in honor of this event presented a new project — the mid-engined supercar Arese RH95.

The developers do not name the model of the donor car, but it is given out by the declared characteristics, as well as the style of the interior, which has undergone minor modifications.

It is based on a Ferrari 488 Pista with a 720 hp V8 biturbo engine. and a seven-speed preselective «robot».

However, it is much more difficult to guess this relationship from the outside, because the body of the Arese RH95 model is actually created anew.

The coupe is made in the general style with last year’s Aero 3 car: soft smooth lines, a narrowed stern, a minimum of protruding aerodynamic elements. All opening panels have been completely redesigned.

Instead of swinging doors — lifting «butterfly wings», the front fairing leans forward (the Ferrari trunk lid had rear hinges), and the engine compartment lid — back (the donor, again, in the opposite direction).

The green car already built in the photos is the first in a series that will include 18 cars.

The second coupe is shown in the renders: it will be painted according to the historical Alfa Romeo racing scheme (red and white).

And the third copy will be in the traditional Gulf Oil livery (blue and orange). It takes six months to build each car.

By the way, the donor supercar Ferrari 488 Pista was discontinued back in 2019.

The successor was the Ferrari F8 Tributo model, which in fact is the result of not the deepest modernization of the 488 family.

However, because of this, the Arese RH95 project was not redone by Touring Superleggera, so for the construction of each of the eighteen copies, the already released Ferrari will have to be sacrificed.

Beauty requires sacrifice: 18 Ferraris will be sawn for the Touring Superleggera Arese RH95.

For its 95th anniversary, the Italian touring company Touring Superleggera has prepared a new model called Arese RH95, for which the Ferrari 488 Pista coupe has become a donor.

The original Carrozzeria Touring Superleggera existed from 1926 to 1966 and was revived in 2006, so the jubilee is somewhat virtual, but this, of course, is not a reason not to celebrate and release new items.

Perhaps, it was after the second birth that the atelier formulated its clear and unique style, which was to the liking of wealthy car collectors.

The Manifesto of this style can be called the Disco Volante coupe based on the Alfa Romeo 8C — echoes of its rounded shape are also found in the Arese RH95.

However, in the new product you can also see the features of the Spyker and Ford GT sports cars from the period of the 2000s.

The atelier does not officially announce which model formed the basis of the Arese RH95, but the technical characteristics and interior details are given in the new Ferrari 488 Pista — a coupe that lasted only a year in the Scuderia production program, in 2019 it was replaced by the current F8 Tributo model.

The technical stuffing, in fact, remained unchanged: the «biturbo-eight» F154 produces a maximum 720 hp. and 770 Nm, a 7-speed «robot» with two clutches is docked to it, which transfers all the power to the rear wheels.

Arese RH95 accelerates to 100 km / h in 3.0 seconds, top speed — 330 km / h.

Outside, nothing about the Arese RH95 betrays the original Ferrari, as the exterior body panels and lighting are completely new.

The doors now open upwards instead of sideways, and the engine cover has become more massive and does not have a viewing window, but its shape is nowhere sexier.

The interior, in fact, is also seriously redesigned, but still the structure of the front panel remains the same as that of the Ferrari 488 Pista.

It is complemented by a highly sculpted center console with a cutout, original air vents and, of course, more refined upholstery. Chairs and door cards are completely new.

Touring Superleggera will release 18 Arese RH95s, so that is exactly the number of stallions that will be put under the knife.

The manufacturing process of the machine takes about six months.

The price is reported upon request and probably depends on whether the client himself will bring the donor car or will have to look for it in the secondary market.
