Toyota GR86 2025.

The latest Toyota GR86 2025 is shown in the first images. Technical details have been revealed.

According to preliminary information, Toyota has started development of the new generation sports car GR86.

Thus it is not known yet what the future car will be.

There is different information about it, but some experts suggest that the new Toyota GR86 of 2025 will be copied from the last Prius.

It means that both Japanese models will be similar in appearance.

At least, that’s hinted at by the designers who created the first renders of the new Toyota GR86.

According to them, Japanese sports car will have smooth body with sloping roof and elongated hood, which rests on the original boomerang-shaped optics, which made its debut on the Prius.

At the front, the novelty has a wide air intake, which due to the protruding metal edging is located on a slight recess.

The Toyota GR86’s stern is made in the original style. Because of the spoiler it looks slightly raised.

Here the developers have placed a long LED strip, which replaces the rear lights.

It is expected that Toyota GR86 will receive hybrid installation. But its characteristics are not announced yet.

Toyota has several hybrids, each of which could add power to the future sports car through minor changes.

One of the likely options is to transfer the powertrain from the Crown to the new sports car.

This hybrid is based on a 2.4-liter turbocharged engine, the maximum output of which could be increased for the future Toyota GR86.

Now this unit produces up to 272 hp in total.

It is not excluded a variant with other hybrids which the Japanese company uses on «younger» models.

But no official information has been received about it.

The new body of the 2022 model year Toyota GR 86 reaches a length of 4,265 mm (+ 30 compared to its predecessor), while the wheelbase of the coupe is 2,575 (+ 5).

The width of the car is declared at 1,775 mm (no change) and the height is 1,310 mm (- 10).

The two-door received aluminum front fenders and roof panel, while its torsional rigidity increased by 50%.

Japanese are reporting that the curb weight is 1,270 kg (+ 50).
