UAZ Patriot crossover 2022-2023.

Independent artists in the first renderings showed the new crossover-coupe UAZ Patriot 2022-2023, designed on the basis of Chery Tiggo 5, the start of sales of which in the Russian market refers to the year before last.

Since last month, the Russian automaker UAZ has been working together with Chery, a Chinese automaker.

After that, the body of the Chery Tiggo 8 parketta was spotted on the UAZ assembly line.

According to experts, the cooperation between the two companies will continue in the future.

Glazing area of the rear body, according to the designers’ opinion, turned out less because of the sloping roof. The rear optics are based on LED matrixes.

Under the hood of the redesigned UAZ Patriot 2023 model year can run 136-horsepower gasoline unit with a working volume of 2 liters or 147-horsepower turbocharged engine with a volume of 1.5 liters from Chery.

They will be paired with a «mechanics» or a variator transmission.

It should be noted that the coupe-shaped crossover UAZ Patriot has nothing to do with the Ulyanovsk manufacturer and is not yet in its plans.

The first information that the Chinese Chery, plans to establish cooperation with the company UAZ, appeared at the beginning of the year, but were taken very skeptically.

However, time showed that the Chinese have already used the Ulyanovsk plant and ran their crossover Tiggo 8 on its assembly line, which indicates some movement in the development of relations between the two brands.

In short, in his opinion, this car could be built on the basis of the outdated Chery modular platform, which the company is gradually going into the background and was previously supported by the crossover Tiggo 5.

However, it is ideal for the «test» car, as it supports the well-known suspension design with McPherson struts in front and multilever behind.

Despite the fact that in terms of design cross-coupe UAZ Patriot 2022-2023 is completely unlike its predecessor — SUV, this name was not chosen by chance.

It is assumed that it will maximally attract customers to the car and arouse their interest in the well-known «name».

At the same time, the model has got a brutal look with a massive front end and a plastic dodger on the lower perimeter of the body.

Having borrowed the platform from the Chery Tiggo 5, some of the engines of the Chinese crossover can go to the new crossover from UAZ.

The 2.0-liter 136-horsepower atmospheric engine can be considered as ideal, but a 1.5-liter 147-horsepower turbocharged engine can become an alternative.

About the price of this car it is quite difficult to speculate, because its appearance looks all vague.
