Overview of the Volkswagen Bora sedan for the Russian Federation: the Chinese version of the Jetta for 2.5 million rubles.

The current (fourth) generation Volkswagen Bora sedan was introduced in 2018, and in 2022 it underwent a planned restyling.

The model is the closest relative of the VW Jetta and is intended for the Chinese market, where it is assembled at the FAW-Volkswagen joint venture.

Note that at the moment, pre-reform sedans are imported to Russia by the Avilon company. They are delivered from the Celestial Empire under the scheme of parallel imports, and in fairly large batches.

The Chinese-made Volkswagen Bora 2023 is positioned as a replacement for the Jetta. The latter was officially sold on our market, but quickly disappeared due to logistics problems that arose during the coronavirus pandemic.

Visually, the VW Bora 4 in the new body largely repeats the Jetta, but it does not have a single common body part with the global model. Moreover, the sedan from China has many unique features.

However, with a cursory examination of the model, it is not easy to distinguish from each other. Both are made in the current design style of the German brand, so they have a wide “lip” under the number and triangular foglight sections.

The cars have similar plastic sidewalls, and the shape of the trunk is almost the same, while recognizing the “Chinese” from the “German” is quite easy — the first does not have separate windows in the area of \u200b\u200bthe rear pillars, although the glasses themselves have additional sections.

As for the interior design, it is in the new Volkswagen Bora, again, almost like in the Jetta. In particular, there is a similar architecture of the front panel. However, the «Chinese» sedan is positioned as a lower-class model.

In his arsenal is exclusively analog tidy with a small monochrome display, and multimedia has a medium-sized touchscreen. For the latter, Apple CarPlay is provided, but for some reason Android Auto is missing.

Also, in the model from the Middle Kingdom, the interior decoration is somewhat simpler. Hard plastic runs along the top of the dash, and there are no bottle holders in the pockets on the door cards.

The new 2023 Volkswagen Bora is based on the modular MQB platform, and in its simplest version — with a semi-independent beam on the rear axle. In terms of overall dimensions, both four-doors are almost identical.

The basic version of the model is powered by a 1.5-liter aspirated MPI EA211 evo series with the DMB index, which was developed specifically for the Chinese market. It produces 113 hp. and 145 Nm of torque.

The engine works in conjunction with a six-speed Aisin automatic. With such a “stuffing”, the car is able to accelerate from zero to hundreds in 13.7 seconds, the declared maximum speed is 190 km / h.

Additionally, cars with a 1.4-liter TSI turbo engine with 150 hp were brought to Russia. and a seven-band DSG robot. They are noticeably faster — acceleration from 0-100 km / h is given in 8.3 seconds, and the top speed is 210 km / h.

During the test drive, we managed to find out that the VW Bora hodovka was assembled in German. The car remains obedient on bends and responds well to the steering wheel. The suspension adequately “digests” sharp joints and speed bumps.

Imported cars do not have an official warranty, but the dealer gives its own — for a period of one year and without a mileage limit.
