Volkswagen ID.Space Vizzion.

Stylish wagon Volkswagen ID.Space Vizzion will be launched in a series At the motor show in Los Angeles 2019, the Germans from Volkswagen showed the concept wagon ID.Space Vizzion. The model is a full-fledged electric car, which is notable for its streamlined body and unusual design of the front bumper. The latter received numerous slots, thanks to which oncoming air flows through the engine compartment and exit with minimal resistance.

The silhouette of the station wagon is far from the classic one — on the side the concept looks like a kind of hybrid between a crossover and a Gran Turismo class car. The car received a sloping roof with a spoiler at the end, as well as special aerodynamic wheels. The drag coefficient of the prototype is only 0.24. The interior of VW ID.Space Vizzion is made in a minimalist style and is decorated with artificial leather, to create which the Germans used apple waste and polyurethane. A miniature display is used here as a tidy, and a projection display is used to display additional readings.

In the center of the front panel is a 15.6-inch touchscreen tablet multimedia system, and the main feature of the back row, developers call a perfectly flat floor. Built on a MEB modular platform, the conceptual Volkswagen ID.Space Vizzion reaches 4,958, 1,987 and 1,529 mm in length, width and height, respectively. The base station wagon is equipped with a 278-horsepower electric motor located on the rear axle, and its all-wheel drive version additionally has another motor in front.

In front are thin luminous strips of white, the VW logo with backlight, IQ Light LED matrix lights, LED daytime running lights in the form of honeycombs. The radiator grill, of course, is missing. No car and door handles. Instead, the car is equipped with illuminated touch surfaces that light up as soon as the Advanced Keyless Advanced function detects that someone is approaching with the car key in their pocket or a specially tuned smartphone. The surface is activated by touch, after which the light begins to pulsate, the touch panel vibrates, and the door opens.

Next, we see a roof spoiler and a diffuser, as well as a long red diode strip connecting LED taillights. All elements of the lighting concept are activated when the driver opens the car.

Inside, all driving information is displayed on the augmented reality (AR) display, which replaces traditional devices. The smaller secondary display only displays basic information, while the infotainment functions, online functions and car settings are grouped on a 15.6-inch touch screen.

As you can see, this concept is four-seater, but the German automaker will also consider the 5-seater version as soon as the car goes into production. Inside, the tactile material is AppleSkin. There are 30 colors of ambient lighting to choose from, voice control, a steering wheel with capacitive touch panels and much more.

In the latter case, the aggregate performance of the units reaches 340 hp, while from a standstill to a hundred such an option is able to accelerate in 5.4 seconds, developing speeds up to 175 km / h limited by electronics.

The prototype received a traction battery with a capacity of 82 kWh. The Germans claim that it is able to provide the station wagon with a range of up to 590 km (according to the WLTP cycle). Volkswagen promised to launch ID.Space Vizzion in a series, but the premiere of its serial version is planned only at the end of 2021, and deliveries will not begin at all until two thousand twenty-two.
