Volkswagen Touareg 2021. Like the Porsche Cayenne, the VW Touareg was designed around the MLB Evo «bogie», or rather its shortened version, which involves the installation of a double wishbone front suspension and a «multilever» at the rear with the option to replace all this with more expensive air dampers.

Available range of wheels — from 18 to 21 inches, rack-and-pinion steering with electric booster, brakes — all ventilated discs with a full set of necessary «assistants».

The chassis of the Volkswagen Touareg 2021 is also placed active stabilizers, and the rear wheels can steer at speeds up to 37 km / h in the opposite direction from the front, which reduces the turning radius, and at higher speeds turn in the same direction as the front, improving the stability of the car on the road.

The exterior of the car remained emphasized solid and monumental, although the decor clearly shows an increase in the number of chrome parts.

Those who would like to see more dynamism in the new Touareg’s look can be recommended the version Touareg R that also is hybrid but has special aerodynamic dodger, more expressive 20-22-inch wheels and wider color palette of body paint.

Interior

Inside the new VW Touareg 2021 model year can be different: the cheapest modification will not surprise, as it will have fabric interior, analog instruments and relatively small screen multimedia system.

Certainly, it will not cancel that faultless ergonomics which German crossovers are famous for, but «rich» equipment will help to feel it in full measure.

It will include really huge central 15-inch touchscreen and a virtual dashboard (12″) which together form Innovision Cockpit.

Interestingly, in this configuration, the climate control panel is also virtual and is included in the interface of the central screen.

Among other «premium features» — athermal glazing, Vienna leather trim and so on.

Technical stuffing

Having stopped production of 421-horsepower Volkswagen Touareg V8 TDI the Germans did not forget to offer an alternative in the form of two hybrid modifications.

Both of them are based on petrol V6 3.0 TFSI rated at 340 hp and have the additional electric motor which is in the single block with an eight-speed automatic «gearbox».

As for the «ordinary» versions, they still get the well-known internal combustion engines:

The 2.0-liter TSI turbo four with 249 hp and 370 Nm;
3.0-liter V6 TDI diesel unit with 249 hp and 600 Nm.
Another variant is the 3.0 TFSI which is used in hybrids, but without the electric «assistant».

When will be released in Russia?

Volkswagen Touareg third generation is already on sale in Russian car dealerships. Actual prices for 2021 — from 4.0 million for modifications with 2.0-liter TSI and from 4.5 million — for the diesel version with V6 TDI.
