Volvo XC40 2020.

Volvo XC40 2020: Swedish quality at the right price.
This spring, the automotive world saw another brutal crossover of the Swedish concern Volvo. The novelty, called Volvo XC40 2020 model year, will be very similar to other models of the Swedes, but it will be slightly better equipped and will receive slightly larger dimensions.

It will not work to call this car restyled, since it contains a lot of details and engineering solutions that have not been applied anywhere. The car will definitely appeal to both young and experienced drivers, since the possibilities of its use are truly universal.

Exterior

The appearance of the new model turned out to be very aggressive. The merit in this belongs primarily to the solid size, the abundance of jewelry and other details that harmoniously complement each other.

All elements of the muzzle of the Volvo XC40 2020 now have almost perfect proportions. The hood is set very high and almost without tilting towards the road, while the sidewalls plummet down. In the middle of the lid there are several lifts that become especially noticeable at the edges. Below are brutal rectangular headlights, inside of which there may be LEDs or xenon lights.

Between these elements in the photo you can see a small grille painted in dark chrome with a fine mesh inside. Below is a massive bumper, in which there was a place for several slots: rectangular in the center and triangles divorced along the edges. They are built almost invisible fog lights. On the lower edge of the bumper, there was a place for a protective layer of plastic.

The profile of the new body looks very bright. It starts with small, graceful glasses in a stylish edging of black chrome, then almost square exterior mirrors, a slightly smooth transition relief and the same plastic strip to protect the body below.

Feed the car looks a little easier than the rest of its parts. The window of the fifth door is neither large nor small, and it is framed by elongated, stylish optics almost to the roof. Above all this stands a rather large visor with followers of the feet. The back ends with a small bumper, on which there was a place for two bands of brake lights and two stylish rectangular pipes of the exhaust system.

Interior

The interior design is consistent with the spirit of the Swedish brand. In particular, the new Volvo XC40 2020 model year received an ultramodern entertainment system, the most relevant finishing materials, including expertly crafted leather and aluminum, as well as comfortable chairs in which any road seems easy and fast.

Interior design

Like other Volvo models, right in the middle of the center console is a large screen of the multimedia center, from which you can configure the lion’s share of functions. Not far from it there are narrow, stylish deflectors, as well as a block of buttons and washers for working with an air conditioner.

Although the tunnel is not physically connected to the dashboard, visually these elements form a single whole. It turned out to be quite wide, and therefore contains quite a lot of functional things. The technical unit is represented by a gear knob surrounded by buttons, as well as a handbrake.

Everything else is comfort elements, among which you can find a pair of cup holders, a niche for wireless charging of the phone, as well as a rather comfortable armrest, which, in a good configuration, hides the cooling unit in its bowels.

The steering wheel is very neat and can be considered fully multifunctional: the driver will be able directly from the steering wheel to not only turn on the track or answer the call, but also activate the vast majority of multimedia options. The dashboard is, in fact, a virtual dashboard that can provide up-to-date information about speed, rpm, fuel and oil levels, and much more. There may also be a navigation screen if necessary.

Seats and luggage

Quite a lot of effort engineers spent on work on the seats. The result is chic armchairs trimmed with excellent leather, having a comfortable shape and soft filling. For the front row are prepared: good lateral support, heating, electrical adjustment and, in some cases, ventilation.

The second row will receive a luxurious three-seater sofa with autonomous multimedia system and air conditioning.
In addition, the car has a rather large luggage compartment: even without folding anything, you can get almost 470 liters of volume, but if you fold the back row, this number increases almost three times.

Specifications

For the new Volvo XC40 2020, both gasoline and diesel engines have been prepared. The characteristics of the basic power unit are formed by a two-liter diesel engine, issuing 150 “horses”. These cars can be either front-wheel or all-wheel drive, but more and more “cool” versions always come with a 4×4 drive.

An older diesel engine will be able to develop already 190 forces, while its dynamics and fuel consumption (in the region of 5 liters per hundred) cause the most pleasant emotions.

There are also two gasoline power units. The initial one with a volume of two liters thanks to the turbocharger produces 190 “horses”.
Thanks to his afterburner, his older brother will be able to give out 247 forces. All engines will be paired with an updated eight-speed automatic.

Options and prices

2.15 million rubles will have to be paid for the simplest version of the car. The price of the most interesting versions will exceed the mark of 3 million Russian currency.

Competing Models

The closest in characteristics and equipment to the Volvo XC40 are the Mazda CX-9, Volkswagen Tuareg, as well as the Ford Explorer, whose deliveries to the Russian market are not planned.
