Ram 1500 TRX 2021: The top-of-the-line Ram pickup with a supercharged V8.

The full-size Ram 1500 pickup truck is one of the leaders in its segment, successfully competing in the US with the Chevrolet Silverado and Ford F-150 models.

The car changed generations relatively recently, at the beginning of 2018, and now the family has been replenished with a new super-powerful version of the Ram 1500 TRX.

It is powered by the hurricane Hemi V8 6.2 compressor engine, producing an incredible 712 hp. and 881 Nm of thrust. Even the top-end Ford F-150 Raptor cannot offer any more — the V6 3.5 Ecoboost biturbo engine generates only 462 hp. and 690 Nm.

In the United States, the new 2021 Ram 1500 TRX with a double cab is priced at a minimum of $ 71,690, or 5.3 million rubles. First, however, the Launch Edition welcomes the series, featuring a rich package and an exclusive Anvil Gray exterior.

This version already costs 90,265 dollars (about 6.6 million rubles). On the conveyor of the FCA plant in Sterling Heights (Michigan), the novelty will appear in the fourth quarter of this year. However, you can place an order right now.

External design and equipment

The most extreme modification of the Ram pickup received a special body design. The main distinguishing feature of the model is the illuminated air intake with a special niche in the bonnet.

Through it, 50% of the air enters the engine, the remaining 50% enters the usual way — through the radiator grill.

The Ram 1500 TRX also stands out against the background of its fellows with a 15 cm wider track and a 20 cm wider body width.

Well, the wheels for the beginner are prepared exclusive — 18 inches in size with Goodyear Wrangler Territory All-Terrain 325/65 R18 off-road tires with a diameter of 35 inches.

The salon of the most powerful representative of the Ram 1500 line, depending on the configuration, is trimmed with fabric or leather.

Contrasting red stitching is available, as well as Alcantara and carbon look inserts. Instead of a washer, a traditional gearbox control lever is installed.

The heavy-duty, undercut rim steering wheel features aluminum paddle shifters above and below the spokes to make it easier to change speeds with your fingertips.

The button block for selecting the driving mode and the Launch Control button are located directly at hand, to the right of the driver.

The package includes a Uconnect multimedia center with a 12-inch screen and navigation, a full-color head-up display, a surround view system, a digital rear-view mirror, premium speakers Harman Kardon with 19 speakers and a subwoofer (power 900 W).

In addition, the pickup has over 100 active and passive safety features in its arsenal. The Mopar workshops offer over 100 accessories to customize the design and expand the vehicle’s capabilities.

2021 Ram 1500 TRX vehicles

The steel heart of the new Ram truck is a 712-horsepower Hemi V8 6.2 compressor engine capable of delivering 881 Nm of torque.

The air entering such an engine passes through a complex filtration system. It enters a special chamber with a volume of 29 liters, where it is cleared of sand, dirt and water. Paired with the power unit is an 8-speed ZF automatic transmission.

Permanent all-wheel drive with a BorgWarner transfer case (gear ratio of the lowering row 2.64) and a Dana 60 rear axle (rear differential equipped with electronic locking) distributes tractive effort between the wheels.

There are five road driving modes (Auto, Sport, Towing, Snow, Custom) and three off-road driving programs (Dirt / Sand, Stones, Baja).

The TRX suspension is adapted for extreme conditions. A two-lever is used in the front, a five-lever at the back. Camber / toe are optimized.

Bilstein Black Hawk e2 adaptive dampers and original springs are installed on both axles. Suspension travel relative to a standard pickup truck is increased by 40% (up to more than 330 mm), ground clearance — by 50 mm (up to 300 mm).

Spurt to 97 km / h for the new Ram TRX takes 4.5 seconds, acceleration to 160 km / h does not exceed 10.5 seconds.

The maximum speed is limited to 190 km / h. The carrying capacity of the model does not amaze the imagination — 594 kg, however, the car is capable of pulling a trailer weighing up to 3.67 tons. The maximum ford depth is stated at 813 mm.
