Kia Picanto 2022.

Kia cars will be of much higher quality. An OTCS of a foreign modification has been obtained for another brand model.

The South Korean company Kia has received an updated GTS for the market for its models. This time the document has been registered for the cheapest «foreign car» in the Russian Federation — a compact hatchback Kia Picanto 2022.

It has been known for a long time why the manufacturer needed it.

Thus, the manufacturer has previously received a new certificate for the Seltos and Sorento, and now it is the turn of the Picanto.

There are almost no changes in the documents for the cars themselves. This means in terms of construction, features, configurations and design there will be no adjustments.

But in the recently issued OTTS for all the above mentioned cars, South Korean assembly plants were specified instead of Avtotor plant, where the cars are assembled now.

The new document for the Picanto hatchback was issued for the period from June 2022 to June 2025.

But it does not mean that this month the model will «move» to the Korean assembly site.

The fact is that the certificate for the actual version for Russian plants is valid until about the end of 2023, so assembly of the car will still be carried out in Russia.

By the way, it is likely that later this certificate will be extended.

The fact is that the new OTTS was obtained in case the supply of components to Russia will be even more problematic than now.

Then it will be more profitable to bring models from Korean companies to us.

It is worth mentioning that the hatchback Kia Picanto will be assembled for the Russian market at Donghee Auto Ltd. when there are unsolved problems with supplies.

Seltos and Sorento models will be assembled at Gwangju Plant.

In any case all the cars will be fully identical to the ones produced in Russia.

However, it is likely that the assembly itself will be better, because in South Korea there are much more controlling bodies from the KIA management, which do not give the opportunity to produce low-quality goods.
