Interestingly, the modification is a reference to the classic Ferrari 250 GT Drogo racing model, which debuted at the 1962 Le Mans 24 Hour Marathon, surprising the audience with its unusual body shape with a long and flat roof and a «chopped off» stern.

For such a design, the car was immediately given the nickname «Breadvan», which can be translated as «bread van».

In 2021, four models will be released under the electric sub-brand Mercedes-EQ, and the first of them debuted on Wednesday, January 20.

The compact SUV Mercedes EQA, built on the same platform with the second generation GLA crossover, has outpaced its congeners.

The newcomer was presented in the only modification of the EQA 250, which is equipped with a 190-horsepower electric motor and a traction battery with a useful capacity of 66.5 kWh.

Such a car will go on sale on the German market in the spring at a price of 47,540 euros (about 4.2 million rubles).

Later, the Mercedes EQA family will be replenished with more powerful variations, including all-wheel drive with a separate electric motor on the rear axle.

The assembly of the machines is planned to be carried out at factories in Rastatt (Germany) and Beijing.

An enterprise in Kamenets will be engaged in the production of batteries. In the future, the supply of batteries will be established from the Polish Javor.
