Peugeot 2008 presented in a new design: what has changed. The Peugeot crossover has been given a facelift, and its electric version has received a boost in power.

Peugeot has revealed all the details about the updated crossover 2008.

The model has long been the leader in terms of sales of B-class SUVs in Europe, but in the last year the demand for it began to decline.

To regain interest in one of its bestsellers, Peugeot has tweaked its appearance and corrected the list of basic equipment.

And for the electric e-2008, she offered a new electric motor with more power.

The exterior of Peugeot 2008 has undergone several important changes.

Firstly, the grille has become larger and is now visually integrated with the headlight units.

Secondly, instead of single «fangs» of running lights, there are now triple stripes, which symbolize the traces of the lion’s claws.

Halogen headlights are standard and LED headlights are standard.

And thirdly, the design of the rear lights has been revised — they now have horizontal sections, not vertical ones.

The list of basic equipment included a 10-inch screen of the multimedia system (previously a seven-inch one was installed).

At the same time, the instrument panel of the simplest versions is analog, and only the most expensive ones have a digital “tidy” with a diagonal of 10 inches.

Among other innovations, the number of cameras of the all-round view system has been increased.

In terms of technology, only the electric e-2008 was updated, while the fuel versions remained unchanged.

The battery crossover is now powered by an electric motor jointly developed by Stellantis and the Japanese Nidec – it produces 156 horsepower instead of 136 horsepower from the previous unit.

The capacity of the traction battery has been increased from 50 to 54 kilowatt-hours, as a result of which the range has increased from 245 to 406 kilometers on the WLTP cycle.

Regular 2008, as before, will be available in Europe with a 1.2-liter petrol turbo engine with 101 and 130 horsepower, which works with the «mechanics» or an eight-speed automatic.

A diesel modification with a 1.5 BlueHDi turbo engine developing 130 horsepower remained in service.

Later, the family will be replenished with a hybrid with a six-speed preselective “robot” and a 48-volt traction electric motor with a capacity of 28 forces built into it.

Assembly of the updated Peugeot 2008 will begin at the Spanish plant Stellantis in the coming weeks, and in the summer the crossover will appear at European dealers. Prices have not yet been announced.
