It is expected that the all-electric version of the crossover will be based on the PPE modular platform, which it will share with the battery-powered Macan and Audi Q6 E-tron.

In line with current global trends, Porsche intends to switch to the development and production of only electric vehicles in the future.

However, for some time the German company will produce both cars with internal combustion engines and electric trains.

The first-born of the “green” family is the Porsche Taycan, but in the coming years it will be replenished with several new products.

So, in 2024, the Porsche model line will be expanded with an all-electric version of the Macan compact crossover, a “battery” pair of Boxster and Cayman is expected a year later, and a fully “green” version of the Cayenne is scheduled for 2026.

In 2027, a novelty will debut — a large seven-seater SUV, which is currently known under the K1 index.

According to British Autocar, an updated Porsche Cayenne with internal combustion engines will appear in the middle of this decade, it is expected that such a model will receive a number of external changes, a corrected interior, as well as a revised engine line.

According to the plan, a year later, a version of the crossover with a fully electric “stuffing” will be presented. It is likely that such an electric car will be called the Cayenne EV, but the company has officially confirmed this so far.

It is assumed that the Porsche Cayenne EV may follow the path of the Macan EV, so the «green» Cayenne will be noticeably different from its counterpart with internal combustion engines, including exterior design elements.

Technically, the versions will also be unrelated to each other. According to the publication, the “electric train” will be based on the PPE (Premium Platform Electric) modular platform, which it will share with the Macan EV and the Audi Q6 E-tron (its premiere is scheduled for the end of this year).

It is reported that the compact Porsche Macan EV will receive a traction battery with a capacity of 100 kWh.

It is expected that the power reserve on a single charge for such a crossover will exceed 480 km.

Most likely, the larger Cayenne EV has a more capacious battery (however, specific indicators are not yet known).

This will allow the future Porsche train to compete for buyers with the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV.

According to preliminary data, the Porsche Cayenne EV will have all-wheel drive, it will be equipped with a twin-engine power plant (one on each axle).

Earlier it was reported that the “green” Macan with a similar system will have a total return of 612 hp and a maximum torque of 1000 Nm.

The all-electric Cayenne may have higher figures. As a result, this version will be more powerful than the current versions of the Cayenne S (440hp, 550Nm) and GTS (460hp, 620Nm).

As we have already noted, in 2027 the German manufacturer intends to show a seven-seat large electric crossover, which will be one step higher in the brand hierarchy than the Porsche Cayenne.

It is expected that when creating a novelty, the company uses the developments demonstrated by the Mission R concept, which was presented as part of the Munich Motor Show in 2021.
