Despite the changes taking place in the automotive industry and the unstoppable rise of electric cars, the German manufacturer quite rightly decided to release a successor to the Tiguan.

The popular and successful compact crossover will debut its third generation.

Development of the new Volkswagen Tiguan 2024 is in full swing. The proof is in the «spy» photos that have just arrived from the south of Europe.

A test mule of the next-generation Tiguan was photographed in broad daylight.

A few years ago, the current model would have had a longer commercial run.

However, Volkswagen decided to speed up the development process. Considering the horizon the automotive sector in Europe is heading toward, it makes sense that the German brand is shortening the timeline to leave more room to maneuver.

As for the mechanical part, Volkswagen has decided that the third-generation Tiguan will still be available with an internal combustion engine.

After all, the main competitors of this parketta will continue to rely on such engines.

There will be gasoline and diesel engines. However, 48-volt lightweight hybrid (MHEV) technology will play a crucial role in reducing consumption and emissions.

Plug-in hybrid mechanics (PHEV) will also be available. Will there be an all-electric option? That’s something we shouldn’t rule out. The possibility is there.

When will the updated crossover make its debut? Given that the photos show a test mule and not a prototype, development is in its initial phase.

If all goes according to plan, it is possible that the new Tiguan will be ready for presentation sometime in the last quarter of 2023. In any case, it will arrive at dealerships in 2024.

It is known that German company Volkswagen is working on the new generation of the Volkswagen Tiguan 2024 crossover, and test prototypes of the model have already fallen into the lenses of spy photographers.

As it turned out, the manufacturer is preparing not only an improved version of the crossover in terms of design, it will also get a more powerful propulsion system.
