Volvo S60 and V60 2023.

Volvo is in a hurry to live: the S60 and V60 have been introduced for the 2023 model year.

Volvo has slightly updated sedans S60 and station wagons V60 (as well as their Cross versions) for 2023 model year.

The cars have changed the design of the wheels and hid the exhaust pipes (on all variants without exception).

Plus the Swedes have revised the palette of body shades, and a new option of trim using expensive fabric with an admixture of wool for the interior of the cars became available.

At the same time Volvo S60 and V60 2023 received a new multimedia system based on Android Automotive OS.

Previously, the latter debuted on the models of the fortieth series. Powertrain lineup of the updated S60 and V60 still consists of 2.0-liter «turbo four,» with the base gasoline variants B3 (163 hp) and B4 (197 hp) with a starter generator now comes with a seven-band preselective robot, while previously they were supposed to eight-speed automatic.

In turn, a front-drive diesel version B4 (197 hp) and all-wheel drive gasoline version B5 (250 hp) keep the old gearbox.

However, the Swedes refused the older petrol version B6 with a combined supercharger (300 «horses»).

The company has also updated the hybrid versions Volvo S60 and V60, which now have got prefix Recharge in the name (previously they were marked with Twin Engine prefix).

Gasoline-electric modifications still have two variants. They have a gasoline engine with a turbocharger and a supercharger, as well as electric motor installed on the rear axle.

The output of the latter during the update increased to 145 hp. (+ 58), while the capacity of the traction battery increased to 18.8 kWh (+ 7.2).

The base Recharge T6 AWD hybrid now produces 340 horsepower and the top-of-the-line Recharge T8 AWD has 455 «horses.»

Cruising range in electric mode reaches 90 kilometers. For the T8 variant is still available «Polestar Engineered» package, but if previously it implied a slight increase in power, now the additional boost is not provided.

The package itself adds 19-inch wheels, sports suspension with adjustable shock absorbers Ohlins and reinforced Brembo brakes with six-piston calipers on the front axle.

In parallel to the 2023 model year, Volvo also revised the complete set of all its models, though all was reduced to the usual renaming.

Instead of familiar Momentum, Inscription and R-Design, customers can now choose from Essential, Core, Plus and Ultimate.

The last two are available with Bright and Dark packages. The first of them implies the presence of cars with generous chrome decor, and the second — the use of a number of dark accents.

Formally the range became wider, but the number of options has been reduced. According to the Swedes, now it will be much easier for customers to choose a car, and it will also reduce production costs.

European dealers have already opened taking orders for the updated Volvo S60 and V60.

Specifically, for the sedan prices start from €46,750 (6.8 million rubles at current exchange rates), and for the wagon — from €41,450 (6.0 million rubles).

At the moment the supply of Swedish car brand in Russia is suspended, but the warranty service of already sold cars will be fully implemented.
