The Avatr 12 sedan has been transformed into a spectacular convertible.
The unusual conversion, as it is easy to guess, was made by the Chinese company Avatr on the occasion of April 1, but customers liked the idea, they are ready to buy such a convertible.

The so-called Laughing Day, aka Fool’s Day, this year was not very fruitful in terms of curiosity news from the car industry — most companies are not laughing now, and the situation in the world, to put it mildly, turbulent and not conducive to relaxed fun.

Nevertheless, Avatr has strained its artificial intelligence and asked it to draw a convertible based on the Avatr 12 sedan that debuted last year.

Recall that Avatr is the joint brainchild of car company Changan, battery manufacturer CATL and IT giant Huawei.

Avatr produces premium electric cars, which are available in Russia as well.

In its home country, Avatr is forced to participate in the price war between the electric car manufacturer, the other day the company announced a price cut on the very fresh Avatr 12, hoping to straighten out the sales curve.

In January-February this year, Avatr sales in China, according to CAAM, totaled 3,397 vehicles, down 1 percent from the APPG.

The Avatr 12 sedan-based convertible looks spectacular even in a somewhat clunky artificial intelligence design, leading current and potential Avatr customers who have seen this virtual novelty to ask the company — why not?

Surprisingly, there are very few recreational electric convertibles on the market, although it would seem that the lack of exhaust and engine noise make an electric car ideal for outdoor travel.

No one makes four-door convertibles today at all. The application was made by the American company Fisker.

It planned to bring to the market a luxury four-door electric convertible Ronin in 2025, but, unfortunately, the company Fisker is now rapidly going down, so there is almost no chance to see a serial Ronin on the roads.

The falling banner of Fisker Ronin could well be picked up by Avatr company and make a real convertible on the basis of Avatr 12 sedan — even two-door, not four-door, and release it in limited edition.

The exclusivity would justify the high price, so it makes sense for Avatr management to seriously work on this business idea.

Well, if the Avatr convertible never happens, then fans of this kind of cars should not grieve much — they just need to wait for the electric Folgore version of the new Maserati GranCabrio.
