Geely Emgrand 7 2023.

A budget Geely sedan made its debut in Belarus. Expansion of the Geely lineup is planned for 2023.

The Geely Emgrand 7 sedan appeared in Belarusian car dealerships, which should become a replacement for such best-selling models as Hyundai Solaris, KIA Rio and Volkswagen Polo in the local market.

The presentation of the new product took place at the BelG plant and was timed to coincide with the fifth anniversary of the joint venture.

General Director of BelGi Gennady Svidersky let the agency BelTA know that the Emgrand 7 will appear in 2023, with a competitive price and a solid set of options, even in the basic version with a manual transmission.

The Geely Emgrand 7 is an adapted version of the Chinese Emgrand fourth generation. We are talking about a 4.64-meter sedan with an optional 1.5-liter atmospheric gasoline engine (114 horsepower, 147 Nm).

It looks like the base version Emgrand 7 with a 5-speed «manual» will not have a digital dashboard, LED daytime running lights and seats covered with leatherette, and the cheapest versions will be wearing 15-inch «stampings».

There is no information about the top version with a variator, but in China electromechanical parking brake, two-tone interior trim, start-stop button and light-alloy wheels 17 inches in diameter are available for the medium-sized sedan.

The Belarusian market is expected to sell up to 2,000 Geely Emgrand 7 sedans a year, which means the novelty should become one of the sales drivers for the Chinese brand.

BelGi has all the chances to offer competitive prices, because in China the base sedan costs only 70 thousand yuan (600 thousand rubles).

The four-door in the showrooms of the neighboring country is presented in several versions.

Thus, the base modification has an atmospheric engine with power of 114 hp and manual gearbox.

For such a car Belarusian rubles 45,200 (1,174,000 Russian rubles at the current exchange rate) is offered.

Т Thus, the initial version of the model is comparable in price to the top-end Lada Granta.

And yet Belarusian dealers have cars in a senior configuration, which has a variator instead of manual transmission, and the equipment is much wider (there are LED-lights, rear view camera and a digital instrument panel).

The price tag for these four-doors is set at 54,200 Belarusian rubles (1,408,000 rubles in our currency).

While the cars are sold in a neighboring country by Chinese assembling, but the Minsk plant «Belgi» has already passed technical tests of the model, which means it wants to localize its assembly in the future.

The company plans to produce 1,500 cars for the local market in 2023.

It is not yet known what the volume of supply is (everything will depend on actual demand).
