Hyundai i10 2021: budget hatchback with European performance.
The Korean company «Hyundai» has prepared for mass production a new version of the five-door hatchback series «i10» of class «A».

In the third generation 2018-2019 Hyundai i10 offers fresh layout and exclusive design solutions, dynamic driving and economical performance.

Inexpensive, practical and low-cost in content, the new model takes into account the specifics of the youth, mainly female, motorist contingent leading an active lifestyle.

The car is adapted for urban use, however, it can be used for long-distance, including tourist, trips on roads with good coverage.


The restyling of the hatch marked itself with a transition to another platform, an increase in external dimensions, a more comfortable and ergonomic interior, and additional functionality of component electronics.

Despite the compact format, the new body demonstrates the recognizable features of the «adult» layout and modern design. The car in the frontal view demonstrates:

• gentle angles of inclination of the panoramic windshield and the bonnet, complemented by ribbed profiles;

• stylish design of multifunctional front optics units;

• coarse mesh of branded radiator lining.

Sporty elements are present in the design of the ventilation duct and the configuration of the vertical triangular diffusers at the front.

The list of decorative elements of the front side of the case includes chrome plating of the brand logo and fog lamp shades, as well as aerodynamic stepped reliefs of structural parts.

The Hyundai i10 2021 looks quite bright, expressive and dynamic in video and photo in a profile perspective.

The design of the sidewalls is characterized by a flat roofline and a large area of ​​side glazing with a window sill ascending to the massive C-pillar.

Large oval mirrors, door handles, proportional ratio of stepped and wave body reliefs are decorated in the same style. The overall ambience is effectively complemented by the «turbine» design of the two-tone 16-inch wheels.

The aft design is dynamic and expressive. In sight:

• completed with a rounded edge of the spoiler semi-oval rear window;

• two-tier arrangement of small-sized lamps;

• ribbed tailgate narrowed at the bottom.

The lower aft segment includes a ribbed bumper, fog optics and a small-sized plastic body kit. The aft decoration is complemented by decorative chrome-plated nameplates and branding, as well as numerous ribbed reliefs.

According to the participants in the presentation, the hatchback is identical in appearance to a number of European and Asian counterparts.


Despite the budgetary cost of the novelty, the manufacturer did not save on the quality of the interior trim and equipment. In stock:

• multi-function steering wheel copied from branded models;

• a combination of pointer indicators and a computer monitor of the dashboard;

• 8-inch display of the infotainment media complex installed on the upper tier of the console.

The dashboard format also includes a pair of symmetrical deflectors and an internal microclimate control panel.

There is no tunnel, so the small baggage well and the technical sector with the transmission shift lever are installed on the tide adjacent to the console.

According to experts, the potential of the standard equipment provides the driver with a comfortable car control, and passengers on long trips — a fairly comfortable pastime.

The hatchback’s belonging to A-class cars is indicated by its overall dimensions, 2425 mm of wheelbase and 149 mm of ground clearance, realized in terms of D-W-V 3670 x 1680 and 1480 mm.

The new, third in a row, the Hyundai i10 showcases the benefits of a massively redesigned front-wheel drive platform and a combined MacPherson strut and torsion bar suspension.

The complete set of the chassis meets the standards of foreign counterparts. The asset of the new model is electric power steering, as well as front disc and rear drum brakes.

The engine range for European modifications includes three gasoline engines with a volume of 1 to 1.2 liters, with an output of 67hp / 91 Nm, 84 hp / 122 Nm and 100 hp / 172 Nm.

In different configuration options, the traction properties of the engine are realized by a five-speed front-wheel drive «mechanics».

In the top versions, a five-band robotic transmission is also promised.

The test drive confirmed the dynamics of the start and acceleration, which is nominal for each power category, which is partially compensated by the economical consumption of fuel and lubricants in all parameters.

Options and prices

Depending on the composition and functional properties of the options, the hatchback price will vary from 10.5 to 15 thousand euros.
